Hey there Rats fans. We're not done yet! Chase Boyce makes his first appearance on the D**g Report, and he's heating up just in time to take Cooperstown by storm. A work horse year round, Chase set his eyes on the prize and kept grinding until he met his goal. Congrats Chase, and have a blast in Cooperstown!

🚨ROSTER ALERT🚨

River Rats made their first big splash of the off-season by adding to the 2027 roster. Jackson joins the Rats on a full time basis after a cup of coffee with the team during the fall '25 season where he posted a .476/.542/.619 slash line, along with a 2.03 ERA across 8 games. Jackson brings depth to the rotation, a middle of the order bat, and elevates the median height of the Rats roster. Welcome to the family Big Fella!

Rats show no mercy - outscore opponents 65-18 - pick up 4 wins on the weekend

Rats 12 Stampede 0

LHP Declan Monat and RHP Quinn Noferi combined for the shutout in the abbreviated 4 inning affair. Average day at the office for C Johnny Marques (2-3 5RBI). 3B Will Locapo went 3-3, while 2B AJ Peterson and Noferi added 2 hits a piece.

Rats 18 Stampede 10

A slugfest in Game 2 saw the Rats collecting 13 hits. Locapo, Noferi and CF Matt Kazanjian each had 3 hits in the game with 5/3/2 RBI respectively. Peterson drove in 4 runs as well.

Rats 15 Prime 2

CF Nate Healy paced the offense going 3-3 with 3RBI. RHP Johnny Marques recorded the first 10 outs (3.1 IP, 2ER). Johnny also contributed with the stick (3-4, 2 doubles, 2RBI)

Rats 20 Prime 6

LHP Declan Monat set the tone in Game 2 going 3IP, 0ER. Declan also had 2 hits (2B) and 2RBI. Marques, Kazanjian and Healy each had 2 hits and drove in multiple runs in the contest. OF Owen Rager returned to action and picked up where he left off in the fall with a run producing single in his first AB of the season.

Rats improve to 8-5-1 on the season (5-1 in division play). Rats will take their show on the road this weekend as they return to Albany, NY for the Battle By The Capital tournament.

Rats and Thunder went down to the wire Sunday - two games, two nail-biters, both decided by a single run resulting in a Sunday series split

Game 1: Rats 8 Thunder 7

After jumping out to an early 6-run lead behind a strong start from RHP Johnny Marques (4IP, 2ER), the Thunder stormed back with a 6-run 4th inning. Trailing by a run in the 7th, River Rats clawed back. An aggressive baserunning play by CF/MI Matt Kazanjian forced an errant throw, allowing him to come across the plate to walk it off for the Game 1 victory.

Game 2: Thunder 6 Rats 5

RHP Will Locapo was dominant on the mound in a relief role (3IP, 0ER), allowing the Rats to stay within striking distance. In the end, the Rats gave the Thunder too many extra outs and the comeback fell just short. 

Overall, a very successful weekend as the Rats take 3 out of 4 to open up division play

Two Rats go the distance and leave Braves in the dust - Saturday sweep at the Swamp

RHP Quinn Noferi (CG, ER, 5K) and RHP Marcus Frade (CG, Shut out) led the Rats to 2 victories to open division play.

C Johnny Marques added to his league lead in ground rule doubles with 2 more on the day, all the while pitching a couple complete games of his own behind the dish.

The defense was near flawless on the afternoon as the Rats collected outs all over the diamond. SS Will Locapo and RF A.J Peterson put on a clinic at their respective positions.

The 6-9 batters in Rats lineup (1B Nate Healy, Frade, Noferi, Peterson) went a combined 12 for 21 with 10 RBI including a huge 2-out, 2-run single by Peterson which provided the separation they needed in game 1.

Rats look to continue the winning streak tomorrow afternoon when they host the MV Thunder.
