It was an up and down weekend at rounds 3 and 4 of the winter heat. A lot of time was gained in practice. Making adjustments, and getting used to a new track.

We felt confident going into qualifying that we could get a good starting spot for the features. But a little misfortune struck, our main car wouldn’t turn over making us switch to the backup car.

The first feature was one to forget. A lot of games were played on restarts causing the front bumper to get wedged in the left front suspension. The car was manageable but slow right hand turns proved to be a problem. Resulting in a 22nd place finish.

The second, caution filled race was something else. Games continued to be played on restarts, piling the field up on the front stretch. We got very lucky and were able to drive away from the mess. After a few more cautions we brought home a 15th place finish out of 34 cars.

I want to give a massive thank you to my dad for all his hard work. He worked his ass off the last two weekends and gave me a competitive car each time I hit the track. Thank you for hauling the cars down and giving me the opportunity to compete against the best.

Now it’s time to prepare for the 2024 season up north. Dad is already on his way back home hauling the cars, and I’ll be flying home in the morning.

Videos will be posted to YouTube in the next few days.

The first race weekend of 2024 was a cold one. We travelled down to North Carolina hoping to escape the cold and do some mid-winter racing. But as our luck would have it, we brought the cold weather with us.

In round 1 of the Winter Heat we hit the ground running. Starting 20th in a stacked 34 car field we worked our way forward up to 8th place. But on the second to last lap the car in front slowed in the middle of the track causing me to spin the car into the grass trying to avoid them. Resulting in a 22nd place finish.

Round 2 was more challenging of a race. We lined up for the race starting 22nd hoping to make even more progress than round 1. It was a lot tougher to pass this race because of how competitive the field was. When the race was called short due to time limit we brought it home in 13th.

I want to give a massive shout out to my Dad (David Caissie) for all his hard work this weekend, he made the 13 hour drive with the trailer while I flew in on Thursday night. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to race against the best drivers out there!

Weather depending we will be back in Charlotte this weekend for rounds 3 & 4 of the Winter Heat! I am looking forward to going back and compete against the best drivers in Legend Car racing!
