🌟🌟🌟Dr. Frank Sabatino will join us next Tuesday at Fit For Life. We’ll be covering important nuances on blood-pressure and cholesterol medications—nuances that are rarely discussed with patients despite the abundance of evidence supporting them.

If you’re currently on blood-pressure or cholesterol medications, or if you’ve been told you may need them soon, this seminar will give you the clarity most people never receive. I’ll be breaking down, in simple and practical terms, how the major classes of medications work, why certain options are superior for most people, and what conversations patients should really be having with their physicians.

We’ll go through ARBs versus ACE inhibitors and why ARBs tend to be the smarter first-line choice. We’ll cover calcium channel blockers and beta blockers, who truly needs them, and when long-term use is appropriate. We’ll also review cholesterol-lowering options (what they do and DO NOT DO)… including statins, Repatha, Zetia, and the specific role of niacin for lowering Lp(a).

After that, Dr. Frank will discuss how these decisions are made clinically and what individualized care should look like beyond the standard “here’s your prescription” approach. The goal is to give you a deeper understanding so you can have better, more informed conversations with your doctor and make decisions that actually fit your physiology and your goals.

🌟🌟🌟Reminder - I’m hosting a 30-minute seminar tomorrow at 9:15 am (everyone is invited) - I’ll quickly review the core lessons from the Hunt for Red October challenge. Again - Whether you did the challenge or not, you’re invited. We’ll cover the most important concepts behind heart health, Zone 2 training, interval training, metabolic flexibility, recovery, and why these things matter urgently for long-term fitness. I’m also going to explain how to continue to use a heart rate monitor PROPERLY - and why it’s such a powerful tool for getting real results, (especially with Zone 2 and HIIT work and tracking recovery). As always - My goal is to help you understand the science, master the concepts, and apply them with intention so your training becomes far more effective. Seminar is only 30 minutes 9:15 am to 9:45 am🌟🌟🌟

Fit for Life is hosting another special seminar with Dr. Frank (ER physician) on Tuesday, November 18th at 6:00 p.m.

In this session, Tom will give a very brief summation of the heart-health concepts covered during the Hunt for Red October Challenge—VO2 max, stroke volume, microtubules, endothelial function, and how all of this ties into real-world heart health.

Tom will also give a short, easy-to-understand breakdown of common medications (blood pressure meds, cholesterol-lowering meds, etc.) and how they work biochemically so you feel more confident in your conversations with your doctor.

After that, Dr. Frank, who will discuss medication reviews and how to optimize your care based on your unique biochemistry and history.
