A great opportunity for girls interested in robotics!

We’ll be at Wilsonville High School that weekend too, competing at the off-season event. Come learn some robotics on Saturday and stick around to see FRC robots in action!

Here's an event we are excited about! On Oct. 3 we invite girls in grades 5-12 to join ORTOP for a FREE robotics camp that's just for them.

All girls in grades 5-12 are invited to attend this event at Wilsonville High School. We will have hands-on robotics fun, food, inspirational speakers, and some free goodies too! Participants will get a behind-the-scenes look at a high school robotics competition, too, at the annual Girls Gen event held the same day.

A look back at the Benton County Fair.

We spent four days alongside other local FRC teams demonstrating our robots and giving kids a chance to get in on the action.

Our mini HUB and catapult craft were a hit, along with plenty of chances to catch fuel from the robots and take a shot at the full-size HUB.

Last season, a few students made the drive from Silverton to be part of Hotwire. This year, they’re helping start a brand new FRC team in their own community.

Since we’ve moved to swerve, we had a REV drivetrain ready for a new home and were happy to pass it along to help get their first robot moving.

We’ll be mentoring and working with the new team as they get started this fall, and hopefully competing alongside them at an off-season event soon. We can’t wait to see what they build!

That’s a wrap on our first Hotwire Summer Robotics Camp!

Our campers spent the week building and programming XRP robots, learning to troubleshoot and drive them, and getting ready to compete in the Iron Acres challenge on the final day.

Our Hotwire students stepped into the role of mentors along the way, helping campers learn new skills and work through problems.

We started this camp to give younger students in our community a chance to experience robotics for themselves, and we’re already looking forward to doing it again next summer!

Thanks to all of our campers and families for making our first year such a fun one!

What has Hotwire been up to?

We’ve been teaching new students and building skills in the shop, spent some time fundraising with our can drive, and brought the t-shirt cannon out to the Turner Celebration.

We’ll be driving around Turner & Stayton collecting.
