Hello to all those who have thanked me in person and the overwhelming posts on social media, Thank you. I am referring to my recent, must do rescue in Buzzard’s Bay. I am hearing from old friends, new friends, and family near and far. All of you have taken time out of your day to wish me well and send best wishes to the young boy who is fighting for his life.
I simply see this rescue as the right place right time, with the right resources in hand. While living the dream in a picturesque New England coastal village, I have enjoyed many dives over the years, experiencing the underwater world as a way of life. Along the way I earned the confidence of my equipment and the understanding of the limits of my dive training. This rescue was within the limits of my experience, and I am grateful to be able to offer my dive training when needed the most. This rescue was a true team effort. Some officers dove in that black raging sea without dive gear or without the warmth of a wet suit only to be knocked about and turned back by wind and wave. I am grateful to have the opportunity to help in an unfortunate situation.
