47 degrees was the high today but Gary and the fish didn't care. Sure it's winter but there will be warm days here and there. A slew of fish were caught, all on small streamers.

Saturdays guide trip was full of fat bows! Coach and Will had great weather.

Rainbows, rainbows and more rainbows! Andy caught a few browns, a nice brook, couple knotty heads and lots of fat rainbows.

Smallie season is still in full effect and will continue to stay hot into October. Smallies were caught on the first and last casts of the day.

Incredible day on local smallmouth river. 8 miles of beautiful river twisting and turning through the mountains of western NC. Saw one fisherman and 3-4 people enjoying the river.

As usual all these smallies plus many more were caught on top water poppers. We were throwing 9’ 6wt rods fishing 8 # tippet. Size 4 chartreuse, white and black poppers. These fish did not want movement, long drag free drifts and BAM!!!!

What a weekend of guiding!!! Big trout, hard fighting smallies and perfect weather! Oh did I mention incredible clients??

Now is the time to hit the water in WNC. Toughest part is deciding between trout and smallies.
