This past weekend the Billies weathered the storms at the Bluegrass Summer Nationals in Paducah, KY.
Friday evening, they dropped both pool games in a steady downpour.
Saturday, both of their scheduled games were canceled due to thunderstorms and tornado warnings.
The Billies came back Sunday morning at 8, warmed up, and played two back-to-back pool games before getting a short break ahead of bracket play.
From there, Billies just kept winning. Game after game, they battled their way into the championship.
After playing four games under a heat advisory, that fifth game was just a little too much to overcome. They played with grit, heart, and gave everything they had. For a group of 10 year olds, five games in that kind of heat is a tough challenge for anyone.
The Billies brought home 2nd place, but they ended the day as champions. They proved to themselves just how far they can push themselves, both physically and mentally.
Proud is an understatement. These boys never quit and left it all on the field.
