Breakthrough Charter School Track & Field competed at the AHSAA (1A) Track & Field Regional held at Loachapoka High School in Auburn, Alabama, on Friday and Saturday, April 24–25, 2026. The progress of building a track program has shown imminent success. The continued growth of our program is evident, as our girls’ team finished 3rd overall and our boys’ team earned a 4th-place finish.

Last year marked our first season of eligibility to compete in the AHSAA (1A) regional meet. In that inaugural appearance, our girls placed 5th and our boys placed 6th, finishing in the middle of the pack among well-established programs. Building on that foundation, we set higher expectations for this year and our athletes delivered with outstanding performances and improved team finishes. Our Girls Team 3rd Place Finish & OurBoys Team 4th Place Finish.

We are extremely proud of the progress our track & field program has made in just its second year of regional competition.

This year, 22 of our athletes have qualified for the AHSAA (1A) Track & Field State Championship, which will be held in Cullman, Alabama, at Cullman High School on May 1–2. By comparison, we had five state qualifiers in our first eligible season last year, making this year’s accomplishment a significant milestone for our program.

We commend each of our athletes for their competitive efforts at the regional meet. We are also proud of our middle school track athletes for their performance at the West Alabama Middle School Track & Field Championship, held at Central High School on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

We extend our sincere thanks to our parents for their continued support and for traveling to both the middle school championship and the regional meet. Your encouragement means a great deal to our athletes and coaches.

We look forward to sharing an update next week following our performance at the AHSAA State Track & Field Championship.
