⚠️ TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CHANGE ⚠️

MFC Members: Please DO NOT use the back entrance to the Miller Complex at this time.

Construction is underway, and keeping that area clear helps the crews work safely and efficiently.

We appreciate your patience while we make improvements to the facility and surrounding complex. We’ll announce when the area is reopened and ready to show off!

Thank you!

💪 Trainer Tip Tuesday with Mac 💪

Everybody thinks they need to run to get in shape.

You don’t.

Put some weight on your back and walk.

Start with a pack that’s challenging but manageable. Then keep adding weight over time. The goal isn’t to stroll around scrolling your phone. Walk with purpose. Move like you’ve got somewhere to be.

As the weight goes up, fight to keep the same pace.

That’s where the work happens.

Rucking builds grit, burns calories, improves conditioning, and is a whole lot easier on your joints than pounding pavement for miles.

The formula isn’t complicated:
➡️ Add weight.
➡️ Keep moving.
➡️ Stay consistent.
➡️ Quit looking for shortcuts.

Most people don’t need a better program. They need more effort.

Get your pack. Go for a walk!

🌟 MFC MEMBER SPOTLIGHT 🌟

This week’s spotlight shines on Lisa Greenspan, 69 years young!

Lisa has been part of the MFC family for four months, and in that short time she has become a wonderful example of resilience, determination, and the power of community.

Health and personal fitness have always been important parts of Lisa’s life. After facing some health challenges over the last two years that kept her from her regular routine, she made the decision to reclaim that part of herself and begin rebuilding her strength.

Today, Lisa is focused on reclaiming her body so she can feel confident and strong in her physicality again. Living with an autoimmune disease can sometimes pull a person into a place of discouragement, but fitness has become a powerful tool for rebuilding both her physical and mental well-being.

One of the most meaningful parts of Lisa’s journey at MFC has been her relationship with her trainer, Tanya. Lisa describes meeting Shonda and being paired with Tanya as one of the greatest blessings of her fitness journey. Tanya has helped her navigate complex health and fitness challenges with patience, encouragement, and expertise. Her knowledge of women’s health and commitment to helping Lisa succeed have made all the difference.

In just two months of working together, Lisa has lost six pounds, increased her muscle mass, activated and stabilized her core, and gained confidence in her workouts. But for Lisa, the transformation goes beyond the physical results. She has found a coach who truly understands her goals, believes in her abilities, and helps her see what’s possible. She credits much of her recent success to Tanya’s guidance and support.

🏔️ Something you may not know about Lisa: She has climbed the Himalayan Mountains twice—once to Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal and once along the historic Silk Road in Ladakh, India. The remarkable part? She’s afraid of heights. She chose those adventures as a way to confront and conquer her fears, which says a lot about the courage and determination she brings to every challenge.

❤️ Favorite exercises: SkiErg and sled work

😅 Least favorite exercises: Lunges and squats (her knees aren’t their biggest fans!)

Her advice for anyone just starting at MFC:

“Just keep opening the door. Everyone here is willing to help and support you. Don’t quit. And if you ever feel discouraged, come find me.”

And when asked why MFC feels like home, Lisa said:

“Everybody here is working toward becoming a healthier version of themselves, and they lift you up when you need support. Thank you all for your wisdom and, most of all, your strong sense of community.”

Lisa’s story is a beautiful reminder that fitness isn’t just about losing weight or building muscle—it’s about resilience, courage, community, and finding the right people to help you along the way.

We’re honored to have you as part of the MFC family, Lisa! ❤️💪

🏋️‍♂️ MFC Member Spotlight of the Week 🏋️‍♂️

This week we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Artemio Carrillo! 💪

At 26 years old, Artemio has been part of the MFC family for 2 years and restarted his fitness journey with one goal in mind — becoming a stronger, healthier, and better version of himself. His passion for powerbuilding and pushing his limits has inspired everyone around him.

🔥 Biggest accomplishment so far:
Squatting an incredible 405 lbs!

💥 Favorite training days:
Back and arms — the workouts that really make him feel strong

😅 Least favorite:
Cardio (honestly, we can all relate 😂)

When he’s not in the gym, Artemio loves playing pickleball and brings that same fun, competitive spirit to the court too.

His advice for anyone just getting started:
“Starting the gym can feel overwhelming, but you do not need a perfect plan to make real progress. Focus on consistency first and also be proud of yourself no matter what.”

And one of the biggest reasons MFC feels like home to him?
“The friends I’ve made along my gym journey make it worth it to go and get stronger.” 💪

We’re so proud to have you as part of the MFC family, Artemio. Your hard work, positivity, and dedication do not go unnoticed, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things you continue to accomplish. Keep pushing forward — we’re cheering you on every step of the way!
