Going forward Warranties on our rods will cover rod blanks only in case of a defective blank, the other components will not be covered and will be charged on a rebuild. I currently eat those costs if I replace a rod. If a rod breaks and it is not a blank defect (is stepped on, broken in a rod locker, broken by a truck tailgate etc., or boat flipping a fish) I will repair the rod at no cost. A rebuild will be at original price. Large manufacturers sometimes cover such breaks but also have that cost built into the price. The same rod I charge $300 for is $600 - $800 from them. I’m just a small hobby builder and enjoy making a high quality rod at a reasonable price. I basically cover my costs and make a little “fishing” money. I hope everyone understands.
Below is the industry standard for “boat flipping”.

“Why Boat Flipping Voids Warranty”
“Rod Ratings Exceeded: Lifting a fish completely out of the water by the rod forces a bend that exceeds the rod's designed lifting capacity.
"High-Sticking" Risk: Anglers often lift the rod at too steep of an angle, putting dangerous, concentrated stress on the upper blank.
Manufacturer Policies: Companies explicitly list boat-flipping or lifting a fish into the boat using only the rod as a voidable offense.”
