A little project for my morning of solitude. I scooped up an ATAS-25 antenna last year and have been tinkering with it (in my mind) since field day. I spent $6 on the screw in cap end but the rest of the parts were in my shop. Decided to leave the camera tripod quick conned attached since it has to be screwed in to put the antenna on the tripod. Still got a little to do but it’s coming along pretty close to what I imagined.

Our first field day! Not an abundance of contacts but definitely a good day in spite of the hot weather. Lots of information was exchanged and we had a total of 8 operators that participated—BIG thanks to K3JRB Jimmy for the use of his trailer and the church for letting us use the space!
