On Saturday, July 25th, we will host THREE MATCHES! A CMP-sanctioned .22LR Excellence in Competition (EIC) Pistol Match, a CMP-sanctioned Rimfire Sporter Rifle Match, and a black powder revolver pistol match.
Match #1: .22LR EIC Pistol Match - The pistol may be either a semi-automatic pistol or a revolver. The pistol must be chambered for the .22 cal. rimfire long rifle cartridge. The pistol may have asymmetrical, orthopedic, or specially shaped grips. The pistol may have only open sights. Optical sights are not permitted. The rear sight may be adjustable but must have an open “U” or rectangular notch. Sights may have fiber optic or light enhancing or tritium inserts. Adjustable front sights are permitted, but extended front sights are not permitted. The total sight radius may not be more than 10.0 inches as measured from the rear surface of the rear sight to the highest point of the front sight. The pistol must have a trigger pull of at least 2.0 pounds.
Match #2 Rimfire Rifle Sporter - .22LR rifles in one of three categories. "Iron" (open) sights, telescopic sights, or tactical (.22ARs).
Match #3: Heritage Precision Pistol Match - Modeled after the National Match course, this match is designed for traditional fixed-sight percussion revolvers. ALL WITH TWO HANDS AS DECIDED BY THE SHOOTER. Course of fire:
10 shots slow fire in 20 minutes on the standard 50 yard target. This expanded time is to allow reloads.
10 shots timed fire: Two 5 shots strings in thirty seconds with ample time to reload, on the standard 25 yard target.
10 shots rapid fire: Two 5 shots strings in twenty seconds with ample time to reload on the standard 25 yard target.
This match will use the standard National Match scoring system. It is designed for percussion revolvers, however it is also a great course for beginning National Match shooters or anyone shooting a vintage fun pistol so any pistol is allowed on the firing line. Shooters will be allocated categories including “Everything Else” so that percussion guns will compete only among themselves.
Check in for the EIC pistol match is 7:30 - 8:15. Safety brief at 8:30. First rounds downrange at 9:00. The Rimfire Sporter Match and Heritage Pistol Match will follow in order. The EIC pistol match should take about an hour, or less, so expect the Rimfire Sporter Match to begin around 10:00. LATE CHECKINS ARE ACCEPTABLE IF YOU ARE NOT SHOOTING THE .22 EIC. IN THAT CASE, BE AT THE RANGE BY 9:30 PLEASE.
NOTE: We will not be serving a lunch this month so bring your own snacks and drinks.
See you on the 25th!!
