Watch until the end: pure joy!
Katrina started with Diventures Marietta in May of 2026 through our partnership with Outdoor Afro. We have loved watching Katrina grow these past few months!
In Katrina’s own words:
“Receiving the Diventures swim scholarship means so much to me. Learning to swim has been a personal goal of mine, and as an older adult, I wanted to prove to myself that it is never too late to learn something new. When I began taking lessons, I had a real fear of deeper water and very little confidence in my swimming ability. With the encouragement, patience, and instruction I have received from Diventures teacher, Don, as well as others, I have gradually become more comfortable in the water and more confident in myself.
This scholarship will give me the opportunity to continue holding building on the progress that I have already made. Each lesson brings me closer to becoming a safer, stronger, and more independent swimmer. I am truly grateful to Diventures in Marietta for investing in me and for making swim education accessible to adults at every stage of life. This scholarship is more than six lessons to me, it is six more opportunities to overcome a fear, learn an important life skill, and accomplish a goal that I wasn’t sure I could achieve.
