This past week we lost more than a rodeo promoter… we lost a true cowboy, a partner, and a brother in the Rodeo business.

For over two decades, the Haney and Woodward families stood side by side producing what we proudly called some of the most adrenaline-rushing, action-packed rodeos this side of the Mississippi.

From the dirt of the arena to the long days behind the scenes, Larry dedicated over 35 years of his life to the sport he loved. As a past President of the American Cowboy Association and part of the driving force behind the Cobb County Rodeo at Jim R. Miller Park for over two decades, his impact reaches far beyond what most people will ever see.

But more than the titles, the businesses, or the accomplishments… Larry was a family man. He loved his people, his community, and the cowboy way of life. He lived it every single day—with integrity, grit, and heart.

We will never forget the conversations, the planning, the laughs, and the work we put in together. What we built wasn’t just events… it was tradition. It was family. And it meant something.

The arenas won’t feel the same without him. But I can promise you this—his legacy will ride on every time those gates swing open.

Please keep Elaine and the entire Haney family in your prayers during this time.

Rest easy, Cowboy you are truly loved and missed.

"In loving memory of our dear sweet Myrtle Woodward, who lived a long and fulfilling life as a devout Christian. She was a shining example of love, kindness, and grace, not only to her family but also to the many Cobb County Rodeo spectators whom she served with warmth and generosity as a front gate greeter for over two decades. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that we are proud to carry on. Rest in peace, dear MawMaw. We will miss you dearly."
