Another example of Disc Golf going mainstream. 1st was setting up a playable course at Dodger Stadium, now a first pitch from a professional Disc Golfer at the White Sox game in Chicago. Kinda cool for the sport.

Good evening Disc Golfers.

Sorry for the late notice but Holes 1 - 8 will not be playable tomorrow due to a Hoa Easter event for the kids. Later in the afternoon it should be playable.

A board member may be added as an administrator to this page so the last minute notice is halted. Communication will hopefully get better.

Be responsible and respectful of the community please.

Good Morning Disc Golf Community-

As a reminder the Maricopa Meadows Disc Golf Course is a private course.

Most players are guests of residents and are respectful of the neighborhood.

This course is in parks and in some cases co-exists in spaces that may have others playing.

There was a reported recent issue with a new hoa board member and a disrespectful player shouting to get out of the way. There is a right way and a wrong way to act on the course.

Be respectful and polite when playing through.

Thank you.

The HOA denied the most recent request for an event at the course.

Why?

Because the organizer has previously posted events without permission. They have hosted an event at the course and were extremely unresponsive with clean up afterwards.

Those types of things will not be tolerated.

Most disc golfers act in a respectful manner. If you don't there are consequences that unfortunately affect more players.

The only event that has successfully been hosted is the Maricopa Open. It has changed directors over the years but is supported by the local clubs and they seem to take a greater ownership in making sure the grounds are cleaned up.

The continued success of any events will need to be a group effort by residents that are part of the disc golf community.

As an FYI it was a board member that has supported disc golf that was adamant the request was denied.

Being you have this great course, I wanted to start a handicap league for new and experienced players. Winners will be given credit to so they may get more plastic. The league will rotate between Meadows and Copper Sky courses. Thinking Saturday Mornings around 10 am in winter and moving up in Summer. If you want earlier or different day, let me know. I’m open to suggestions.

This post is not to get your rage out, this post is to invite the community to enjoy their course and to learn how to play. It is a fun way to exercise.

Enjoy ........
