Jiu-Jitsu is more than what happens on the mats. It’s about community, unity, and giving back.

Today, Professor Gabriel Montuani had the honor of teaching a charity seminar at Fratres in Itu, 🇧🇷Brazil.

Together, Fratres and Resilient Jiu Jitsu collected more than 300 pounds of food to support families and people in need.

This is what Jiu-Jitsu is all about — using what we have to make a difference in the lives of others.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and supported our event last Saturday! 🙏

It was amazing to see our academy community coming together, enjoying some good açaí, good conversations, and good vibes. ❤️

When we first started doing events at the academy, we always had a lot of leftover açaí… 😂
After two years, I guess you guys finally learned to love it — because this time, there wasn’t much left! 😅

Thank you to everyone who helped, participated, and made the day special. We truly appreciate every one of you!

Showing up isn't just for you. It's for the kid next to you too.

Every time your child steps on the mat, they're showing up for the nervous teammate, the new kid still learning the ropes, the training partner who needs a patient drill buddy. That's leadership — even if they'd just call it "my friend from jiu-jitsu."

We're not just building skill. We're building kids who show up for their team, cheer on someone else's win, and help a struggling partner figure it out.

Skills fade if you don't use them. Character and community like this sticks for life.

What to expect from the stands.

Your kid might hang back. Watch a few reps before trying. "Forget" what they nailed last week. None of that means something's wrong — it means they're learning, in real time, in front of people.

Progress here isn't a straight line. Some days it's a new move clicking. Other days it's just showing up. Both count.
Your job isn't to track every technique. It's to be the calm in the stands, and trust the process — trust that the kid who looked lost in week one isn't the kid who'll be rolling confidently in month six.

We see it happen every day. You will, too.

That first climb up the stairs is bigger than it looks.

For a 2-year-old, holding a coach's hand and climbing the stairs to class isn't just a walk to the mat — it's a milestone. Trusting a new adult. Separating from a parent without panic. Trying something unfamiliar and discovering they can handle it.

That's what Resilient Pre-Jitsu is all about: building resilience through jiu jitsu.

Our program for ages 2, 3, and 4 isn't about creating tiny competitors. It's about growing more autonomous, confident, and resilient little humans — kids ready to thrive in a coaching environment and everywhere else. Through a gamified, safe jiu jitsu setting, we help them:

⏺ Regulate their nervous systems and ease separation anxiety
⏺ Speak up and communicate with safe adults
⏺ Learn to say "no" and enforce their own physical boundaries
⏺ Build confidence by trying new things
⏺ Master foundational movements — climbing, crawling, balancing, falling safely
⏺ Develop body awareness and early self-defense instincts

Every stair climbed, every mat stepped onto, every new skill tried is a rep in resilience — and a step toward doing it on their own.

We're not rushing them to the sport. We're building the autonomy, confidence, and resilience that carries them through it — and well beyond the mat. 🥋

Watch closely — same movement, broken down, run again and again. Not because they got it wrong. Because that's how real skill gets built.
This is what elite instruction looks like: a coach who knows exactly which detail matters, patient enough to drill it until it's memory.
