Louis Herman "Red" Klotz (October 21, 1920 – July 12, 2014)

THREE CHAMPIONSHIPS - Basketball Association of America / NBA Championship - 1947-48 Baltimore Bullets. 1942-43 Championship in Philadelphia on the Spha’s team. 1941 freshman Championship team at Villanova University.

World Champion Red Klotz is a basketball legend was known for the incredible accuracy of his two-handed set-shot. He also built, managed, was a team member & coached the New Jersey Reds and the Washington Generals basketball teams, that toured with the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters for many decades. The team beat the Globetrotters. Red Klotz was a 5-foot-7-inch guard on the 1947 Baltimore Bullets team that won the championship of the Basketball Association of America, the forerunner of the N.B.A.

Along the way, his teams would also compete as the Boston Shamrocks and New York Nationals, among other names, but at heart they were always the Generals, and always a mirror image of Klotz’s vision for how basketball should be played.

PLAYER PROFILE: "BILL CAMPION"
A proud member of the Red Klotz group of basketball teams.

Bill Campion grew up in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx on Sedgewick Ave and played his basketball at JHS 143, Rice High School, and Manhattan College.

At 6'10" Bill was a prolific rebounder - one of the best in the nation and had great mid-range shooting touch. He still holds the Manhattan College record for 30 rebounds in a single game.

After his junior season he was given the Haggerty Award, for the best male collegiate basketball player in the greater New York City area. Campion was selected in the fourth round (60th overall) in the 1975 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. The American Basketball Association's Virginia Squires also chose him that year, but Campion did not play in either league.

After Manhattan College, Campion played in Italy for Mobilgirgi Varese. During his rookie season, his team won the European Championship, 81–74, over powerhouse Real Madrid.
