Sorry everyone for neglecting the Gateway Park page and plan. The course can not be built at Gateway because REAP funds were used to purchase the land, around the time I found this out my 15 year old came to live with me and my health took a turn for the worse.

Will be there next weekend. Sunkissed was my home course until I moved to over by Marengo. After losing 1 too many disc at Lake Iowa I went to the county and am building a course at Gateway. Baskets and temp tees by snowfall and permanent in ASAP. Official opening will be July 25th but really as soon as the baskets are in. Feels like a dream. I'm still alive and building a course.

The layout to the course is still not set in stone. Anyone that wants to can contribute to the design. I welcome it. Go on Google Earth and you can start a project. Layout some holes and post them to the page. I will look at them and incorporate what works if I feel it's an overall improvement.

I think I created some confusion. Once the baskets are here and in the ground I would encourage everyone to try the layout from grass trees with temp signs. I want to take comments for a few months before installing tee boxes and final signs to work out any issues there may be with design. Also to accommodate several request I've had from the community.

Meeting with Conservation Board went well. The proposal is on the agenda for August 11th. There was support from the entire board that the course should be built and would be an asset to Gateway Park, the community, and the county. Barring any major hiccups the baskets will be in the ground before the snow flies this year and officially opening next year.

The original plan for Gateway Park. I would love to put that bridge in to expand course to the north of the South Pond. I think I am going to try and incorporate some of this, maybe not the bridge, but include some of the original plan in the design.

Disc Golf got me through one of the most trying times of my life. Two terminal cancer diagnosis, divorce, and estrangement from my children the day after my brain surgery I was living in a Trailblazer. Without frisbee I don't think I'd be alive today
