The attachment you use on a cable row changes which part of your back is doing the work.

The D handle and the V bar both keep your grip close and your elbows tucked to your sides as you pull. That elbow path biases the lats heavily with minimal upper back involvement. They are essentially the same exercise.

The wide lat pulldown bar flares your elbows out to the sides as you row. That single change shifts the emphasis almost entirely to the upper back, traps, and rhomboids. The lats contribute far less.

If your program has both a D handle row and a V bar row you are doing the same exercise twice. Swap one of them for a wide bar row and you will actually be training your full back instead of just your lats twice.
