We’ve received a few questions about how the recent flooding in the Grand Canyon is affecting Kayak the Colorado, so we wanted to share a quick update.
First and foremost, our hearts are with everyone impacted by the flooding in the Bright Angel Canyon and Phantom Ranch areas, especially the families and loved ones of those who are still unaccounted for. We’re incredibly grateful for the first responders, National Park Service teams, and everyone involved in the ongoing search, rescue, and recovery efforts.
Kayak the Colorado remains open and operating from Lees Ferry. Our section of the Colorado River between Lees Ferry and Glen Canyon Dam is separate from the area that experienced the most significant flooding.
As always, the safety of our guests and crew comes first. We closely monitor weather, river conditions, National Park Service updates, and local advisories and will adjust operations whenever conditions require it.
If you have an upcoming trip with us and have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ll continue to keep our guests updated as conditions change.
Stay Safe, AZ 💛
