One month ago 65 kiteboarders left for the first annual Downwind-A-Palooza race to Key West!

Conditions were challenging with riders averaging 65 miles traveled over water! Dylan Shewfelt of Puerto Rico was top mens pro rider completing the race is 2 hours and 22 minutes and top female rider Frances Dux in 3hrs and 57 minutes!!

Thanks to all the riders who came from far and wide to endure the abuse and celebrate the sport we all love. A huge thanks also to all the sponsors, volunteers,supporters, and government agencies who helped piece together the equally challenging logistics to bring all riders home safely!

Downwind-A-Palooza is officially in the books! 60+ kiteboarders traveled from Grassy Key to Key West the 30+mph winds and waves.

Lots of question about foils for this year. Due to the fastest and safest course that we can run this year for Downwindapalooza the majority of the course will take place in the shallows and flats of the Florida Keys. For this first years run we will not be including foils but will do for next year for sure! 🤙
