This Saturday August 15th, MTSC will host its fourth and final Silhouette Match and Fun Shoot for 2026. Shooting starts at 9:00 AM and runs until 3:00 PM. Big Bore, Small Bore, and Field Pistol ranges will all be used. Come out and give it a try or just watch to see what it's all about. It's also great practice for big and small game hunting seasons. A 22 LR Rifle or Handgun is a great place to start.

As of Wednesday afternoon , the NWS indicates the weather for Saturday is: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.

If the smokey haze persists into Saturday, shooters can pretend to be hunting in a fog or snow storm without needing to wear 5 to 10 layers of clothing to be comfortable.

Open Range Day at MTSC Oct. 11, 2025

On Saturday, October 11th, 10 AM to 4 PM, we will have open range for rifle and handgun shooting. All of the regular targets as well as hardened steel targets will be usable for the appropriate fi****ms (No steel projectiles, distance minimums and velocity maximums, etc). Non-members will be assessed a $5 guest fee, with no charge for any MTSC members. Hearing and eye protection are required for anyone on or near the firing line.
