Last week we wrapped up our annual Summer Youth Camp. It was a full week of hoops that focused on individual skill development, teamwork and competition.

Across all sessions we had 79 athletes come out to get better. It was so fun to see the growth of players over the week and how much they’ve already improved since their last season ended.

A special thank you to our coaches that helped out all week long. Coach Jeffrey McClure (2018) and Coach Mason Dupree (2022) were a huge help and loved giving back to the program. We also had a number of current players help out this week.

It was so much fun being apart of this for another year. Already looking forward to the next camp! The future of Northwestern Basketball is extremely bright!

This year’s squad includes Duluth East’s Ty Nyberg, Hibbing’s Ray Brau and All-Area Player of the Year Carter Brown.

This year we celebrated and competed at the 32nd Annual Northwestern 3 on 3 tournament. This years event was a 1 day tournament verse the traditional 2 day event we typically do. This years event featured 70 teams, 13 different divisions and championship T-Shirts for winners!

Thank you to all the volunteers that were able to come through and make this event happen. From the table workers, cafeteria help and officials we were able to make this tournament move smoothly.

A special thank you to Mike Granlund! Mike has been putting this event on for years. He’s given countless opportunities to play, develop and grow for boys and girls in our area. Northwestern basketball wouldn’t be where it is at without him. Thanks Mike!
