⚾️The Tigers are Regional Champions!⚾️

They claimed the Regional Championship tonight with a 7-3 victory over Boyceville.

Boyceville struck first with a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning, but the Tigers answered in the top of the second when Gage Nollet grounded out to drive in the tying run.

The Tigers took control in the third inning. Tysen Teal launched a solo home run to left field to break the tie, and a Nollet RBI single later in the inning extended the lead to 3-1.

The Tigers added to their lead in the top of the fourth when Mason Chell ripped a double, driving in both Anthony Calore and Teal to make the score 5-1.

Boyceville battled back with two runs, but the Tigers responded in the top of the sixth, adding two more runs to extend their advantage to 7-3 and put the game out of reach.

Anthony Calore got the start on the mound and earned the win, allowing six hits and three runs over five innings while striking out four and issuing no walks. Teal was tossed two scoreless innings in relief, allowing just one hit while striking out two and walking none.

The Tigers collected timely hits throughout the lineup. Calore led the offense, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Nollet finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Chell drove in two runs and added a double. Teal contributed an RBI and congratulations on his HOME RUN!

With the Regional Championship secured, the Tigers now advance to the Sectional Semifinals. They will take on Saint Croix Falls on Tuesday, June 9, at 10:00 a.m. in Cumberland.

The Tigers defeated Spooner 8-3 in Round 2 of the Regionals last night earning a spot in the Regional Championship game.

Spooner jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs over the first three innings. The Tigers answered in the bottom of the third to even the score, then broke the game open in the sixth inning. The Tigers plated five runs on three hits in the frame to take control for good. The biggest blow in the game was a single by Ethan Harms on a full count that drove in two runs.

Harms got the start on the mound, allowing one hit and three runs (zero earned) over four innings while striking out eight and walking two. Anthony Calore and Tysen Teal combined for three scoreless innings in relief to secure the victory.

The Tigers collected nine hits in the game. Calore led the offense, going 3-for-4 with two RBls. Harms finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Bryer Burkhart went 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Logan Portela added an RBI, going 1-for-3. Teal and Caleb Wright each swiped a base, and the Tigers turned a double play on defense.

The Tigers will travel to Boyceville today for the Regional Championship. First pitch is scheduled tor 5:00 p.m.

While we still have at least one more home game to look forward to, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank those who have kept the baseball concession stand up and running.

A special thank you to Emily Shuga and Steve Schaefers for grilling and organizing the concessions. Your time, dedication, and hard work are greatly appreciated!

We’d also like to thank the Iron River PTO and the Iron River Lions Club for volunteering in concessions and helping support our program. Community support like yours makes a tremendous difference.

And another heartfelt thank you to Madelyn Mackey, Raelyn Mackey, and Monica Fouts for all of your volunteer work in the concession stand throughout the season. We appreciate your willingness to volunteer and help!

We hope to see everyone back at the ballpark for our next home game on Tuesday as the Tigers continue their postseason run!

The Tigers rolled past Phillips in round 1 of regionals tonight with a 15-1 victory in a 10-run game.

Caleb Fouts stepped on the hill first. He gave up just two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking none. Bryer Burkhart, Kade Paulsen, and Shane Holsclaw each threw scoreless innings in relief.

The Tigers rallied for nine hits in the win. Fouts led the way at the plate, going 2-for-2 with 4 RBI. Anthony Calore went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI and a double, while Paulsen also collected two hits, finishing 2-for-4. Tysen Teal added 2 RBI. Ethan Harms, Colby Saari, and Mason Chell each drove in one run, with Chell also blasting a triple.

The Tigers were sharp defensively all night and did not commit a single error in the field.

The Tigers advance to round 2 of the playoffs and will take on Spooner at home next Tuesday. First pitch is set for 5:00. Come out and support the Tigers!

The Tigers came up just short in a hard-fought 7-6 loss to Superior tonight, as a walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh gave Superior the win.

The game stayed close throughout. The Tigers struck first in the opening inning when Mason Chell singled to drive in two runs. Superior answered by taking a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the third inning.

The Tigers battled back in the top of the fifth to reclaim the lead, 6-4. Logan Portela singled to center field, Gage Nollet added an RBI groundout, and Kade Paulsen doubled to center to bring home another run. Superior tied the game in the bottom half of the inning before ending it with a walk-off single in the seventh.

The Tigers totaled 12 hits on the night. Chell led the offense, going 3 for 4 with two RBI. Nollet finished 2 for 4 with an RBI, while Paulsen went 2 for 2 with an RBI and a double. The Tigers turned one double play in the game.

The Tigers take on Phillips at home in the first round of regionals on Thursday.
