-STATEMENT ON CYMAN 2020/RACE DAY ANNOUNCEMENT-

Hello Cy-Athletes!

With the impact of COVID-19, the future of this year’s racing season is all but certain. Many races have been postponed, virtualized, or canceled altogether. As of now, the Triathlon Club at Iowa State University is still planning to host CyMan 2020; our race day is scheduled for Sunday, September 13th, 2020 in Bondurant, Iowa. For your safety, we will only host the race as planned provided the current situation improves and events are deemed safe to run by professionals and organizations. If it is deemed not possible to hold CyMan, we will focus on hosting a virtual event, such as a duathlon or 5k. We will be working closely with Iowa State University to monitor the situation throughout the summer and will keep you updated regularly about CyMan’s status. We plan to publish registration and more race information soon; however, we want to establish and provide a procedure for transactions in case we were to cancel or virtualize the race. We appreciate your patience and perseverance throughout these stressful times; we hope to see you all at Lake Petocka on race morning!

Dear MWCTC athletes,

Collegiate Club National Championships in Tempe, AZ on April 3rd-4th is canceled. Please read USA Triathlon’s statement on the event cancellation in your emails. Specific details will become more clear as private and public institutions respond in the coming weeks and months. To this end, please consider saving your CCNC funds in the event that the race is rescheduled, but note that USAT will transfer registrations or refund registration costs depending on your situation. Currently qualified athletes (and allocations) are locked in!

We know that both our respective teams and all athletes want to be racing — we do too. USA Triathlon and the Midwest Collegiate Triathlon Conference are committed to the health and well-being of our communities. We are working with USAT to communicate the needs of our conference — this is a high priority and national specific issue.

Action items:
- Please fill out our Google form to send us your feedback, concerns, etc. about cancellations and the obstacles of your team and your teammates (linked below).
- Share USAT’s statement with your teammates.
- Club leaders, please share this post to your public and private social media platforms.
