The goal of our program is to provide each swimmer with the o

pportunity to improve their swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level. Granite City Aquatics is a member of USA Swimming, the national governing body for competitive swimming in the United States and is located in St. GCA believes swimmers are like zebras; just as no two zebras are the same neither are any two athletes. We strive to help each swimmer find and support what works for them individually to succeed. Granite City Aquatics offers:
A competitive swimming experience in a fun nurturing, skill based environment
Workouts tailored to meet the developmental needs of the swimmers in each training group
Qualified and energetic coaches with competitive swimming experience
Occasional games integrated into the workouts

Our crew had one crazy weekend! So many lifetime best swims! Lots of laughter, too many tattoos 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️, and many unforgettable memories made

Our crew swam away with 10x NEW State Qualifying swims and 4x 'Win-it and Swim-it' State Qualifying swims! The clickety-clack of medals could be heard any time frogs were near! I'd say that's one heck of a weekend!

It was an awesome weekend for our little frogs! 34 new lifetime best swims, 12 newly achieved silver times qualifying for the MRC meet next weekend, and one very exhausted coach! A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our families who volunteered their time to help us make this meet happen!

New Swimmer Assessment Night for Spring 2026 Season:

Monday, March 30th 6-7pm at Apollo High School
-OR-
Tuesday, March 31st 6-7pm at Sartell Middle School

No appointment needed; show up anytime between the time noted for each night. Please enter Apollo High School through door 11 (just past the activities entrance), there will be signs directing you to the pool. Please enter the main door at the Sartell Middle School and the pool will be straight in on your right. There will be a building attendant to direct you. Prospective swimmers will be taken through a short swimming evaluation for group placement, so please be sure to wear a swimsuit and bring goggles. Each placement takes 10-15 minutes. If you are unable to attend and are interested in joining, please contact Denise Lenarz ([email protected])

Please note that if your child is joining Central Minnesota Aquatics as a new member, they must complete a group placement with a Central Minnesota Aquatics coach before registering online. If your swimmer has experience swimming for a High School team, please email Denise Lenarz. Usually these swimmers can forgo a swim assessment if they have times available to look at from competitions.

Last night we took our first major step towards our shared vision for the new Central Minnesota Aquatics. While the parents learned more about what is to come, our new sharks did play! Our athletes spent the night bonding by creating new team cheers, unraveling human knots, and spending time getting to know their new teammates.

💓Be still my heart 💘 because this crew KILLED it at the SDVL Sweetheart Classic this weekend! Our 🐸 Frogs picked up 6 NEW State Qualifying Swims, multiple 10+ sec time drops, a handful of new MRC cuts, and was the best cheering crew around! Proud of these athletes!

We are thrilled to announce the merger of GCA and CMA into the all-new Central MN Aquatics. Under the elite leadership of Head Age Group Coach Annika Bordak and Head Senior Coach Mack Sathre, we are uniting our talents to bring a superior swimming experience to Central MN and surrounding area athletes.

By combining our programs into a unified powerhouse full of talent and passion we’re creating the ultimate program designed to support swimmers at every level of the sport. Developing athletes from their first splash to championship podium appearances. Bigger. Better. Faster. COMING Soon: Stay tuned for the official new mascot revealed at a later date. 🦈

We had a GREAT weekend at the TUNA meet! Despite missing two practices this week due to extreme cold weather, our GCA crew persevered by blazing through the water with multiple lifetimes best swims! Our crew also swam away with 3 newly achieved state times! Plus a special shout out to Daniel A. who earned his first EVER state time in the 50 Backstroke this weekend! 🔥🔥🔥 And we also celebrated a birthday this weekend - Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳 Charlotte D!

It was a weekend jam-packed with fast races and FUN for this GCA Crew! We braved the snowy tundra on our trip down to IOWA this weekend and walked away with a 3rd place high-point award for Miss Charlotte, a duck-toss prize win for Charlie, a double-digit birthday celebration for Bodie 🥳, a few new state times, multiple lifetime best swims, and several finals appearances (even if we dipped out a little early due to deteriorating road conditions 😱)

Co-hosted Home Meet ✔️✔️ It was a fun filled, exhausting weekend! A HUGE thank you to all of our parents who volunteered this weekend helping us run a successful meet! Congratulations to all of our athletes who traveled to a new pool for a meet for the first time! We had 79x new lifetime best swims, 1x newly achieved state time (as a first time attempted swim 🤯), and the best cheering squad on the pool deck! 💚💙🐸
