Haphazard Sportfishing

The last couple days has produced some pretty good sailfish action for our fleet. Yesterday we had 7 bites and today we caught 1 out of 2 blueones and had 9 sail bites. We have some days open next week if anyone wants to come join in on the action.

From the mound in Omaha to the chair on the Haphazard…Folger doesn’t shy away from a challenge. He caught our biggest yellowfin to date. A beautiful 187.5 lb tuna will be enjoyed by a big crowd for the 4th of July in Pirates Cove. We also caught 2 out of a triple of whites. We are now taking charters if anyone would like to go give it a try. Some marlin showing up. Let’s get after them!!!

Hap finished his season on the new boat with a great day. We put a many a mile on the new rig this year. Today was also a first as it was our new mate Ellis first day fishing with us. Most know who he is as he’s been down the dock from us for 6 years with my buddy Karl on the Fistful. He had the pleasure of sharing the cockpit with my good buddy Scotty who has been helping us out since JT left. Thanks Scotty for all you have done for us. We will start our prep for Costa Rica next week. Can’t wait to get back over there.

We have had a weeks worth of wind and it looks like a few more days of it to come. But I wanted to take a minute to say something. JT finished up his time on the Haphazard a couple weeks ago. He is moving on to take over his own program/boat. From all of us, I wanted to say thank you for a job well done. When he started we both were kind of in a bind and it ended up being a blessing. Never once did he complain about anything, question anything I said, or have a bad attitude. It was so nice to never question anything going on downstairs. JT will do great with his next venture, as he proved that when he ran the boat for me when I was away. We hate to lose you but we can’t wait to see you on the rip. Thanks again my friend.

What a fun day with the Bayliss family, Smith, and Jill. We fished the Community Care Clinic tournament and were lucky enough to have some bites. We finished 2nd, Paige got Top Lady Angler and Smith got Top Junior Angler!! Like Scotty said…it doesn’t feel like work when you are having fun fishing with great friends.

Thursday I did a great job of driving around the fish but we did a little better today. Can’t wait to get back out there tomorrow for Dr Joe’s tournament.
