Ready to start your 30 day challenge, 10 minutes a day!?
*Viparita Karani* — Legs-Up-The-Wall — is one of the most underrated poses in yoga/bodywork. Looks easy, does a LOT.
What it does
It's an inversion, but a passive one. You're flipping gravity without effort. Legs above heart, heart above head (slightly), so your body doesn't have to fight to pump blood back up.
Benefits:
*1. Nervous System Reset (why you feel calmer instantly)*
Stimulates the parasympathetic system — vagus nerve activation. Lowers heart rate, slows breathing, drops cortisol. This is why people sleep better after doing it.
*2. Circulation + Recovery*
- Venous return from legs = reduces swelling, heavy leg feeling, especially after standing all day or leg day / AMRAPs
- Fresh blood flow to pelvic floor and low back
- Lymphatic drainage — helps with that puffy/inflamed feeling
*3. Low Back + Hamstring Release (without stretching)*
Psoas and low back finally let go because the floor holds you. No active holding. Great for clients with tight hamstrings who hate stretching.
*4. Digestion + Pelvic Health*
Gentle pressure shift helps with bloating, and improves circulation to reproductive organs — this is why it's in every fertility/restorative protocol.
*5. Core Connection Piece*
When you breathe deeply in this pose, your diaphragm and pelvic floor can sync again. It's how you train deep core without doing a single crunch.
Why do a 30-Day Challenge?
One time feels nice. 30 days rewires:
- *Day 1-7:* You actually notice how hard it is to be still. Sleep improves first.
- *Day 8-15:* Less low back tightness in the morning, less leg swelling at night.
- *Day 16-23:* Your breathing changes — you naturally breathe deeper during massage work, lifts, and at night.
- *Day 24-30:* It becomes a habit anchor. Your body starts asking for the down-regulation.
WE NEED THE RESET.
