8U Rebels Black McKeon took on bracket play in the South Bay on Saturday for the third weekend in a row, this time competing in the Billie Sue Memorial Tournament. Our girls came out on top on Saturday, finishing as the only team with a 3-0 record in pool play and earning the #1 overall seed among the 10 teams in the 8C division.

The Rebels were ready to battle on Sunday, with bracket play game 1 against the Burlingame Flames. The Rebels had a hard-fought 2-1 victory, advancing them to the Gold Bracket Championship game against Redwood City Wicked.

The championship game was a back and forth battle of defensive plays and the teams were tied 2-2 and headed into extra innings under the international tiebreaker rule. Wicked scored one run in the top of the extra inning, putting pressure on the Rebels, who needed two runs to win. Madison Reab stepped up and delivered a walk-off hit to secure the win for the Rebels.

The Rebels walked away from their weekend undefeated and played with confidence, determination, and outstanding teamwork all weekend long. Congratulations, girls, on bringing home the gold bracket championship! 🖤⭐🥎

8U Teal Weekend Recap 🖤🩵🥎

Our 8U Teal Rebels wrapped up a full weekend of softball with big improvements, clutch plays, and their first win of the season!

Game 2 – Benicia Outlaws 5, Rebels 4
A tight battle from start to finish. RBI hits came from Emmy Gatton, Brooklyn Lorenz, Callie Ellis, and Izzy Berg.
Defensive highlight: Catcher Kodah Harvey pounced on a tipped ball in front of the plate and fired to first for a huge third out.
Pitchers Meilani Jackson, Brooklyn Lorenz, and Alice Wiltermood combined for five strikeouts in three innings. Gritty effort all around.

Game 3 – San Ramon Stompers Elite 10, Rebels 1
A tough matchup, but the defense shined.
• Clare Mancia handled a hard grounder and connected with Holly Ponce De Leon at first.
• Izzy Berg made another strong infield play to Alice Wiltermood.
• Callie Ellis added a pop‑fly catch.
• Offensively, Holly Ponce De Leon knocked in the Rebels’ run with an RBI single.

Game 4 – Rebels 5, Petaluma Steal Breeze 1
FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON!
The girls came out firing with strong defense and early offense.
• Callie Ellis opened the game with a ground‑ball out and a swinging strikeout.
• Singles from Callie and Kodah Harvey set up a two‑run RBI single by Holly Ponce De Leon.
• Clare Mancia added another RBI single for a 3–1 lead.
• Meilani Jackson dominated the third with two swinging strikeouts.
• Insurance came from Avery Filippetti, Callie, and a two‑run single by Kodah.
A complete team win!

Game 5 – Benicia Outlaws 7, Rebels 1
The Rebels struck first with Kodah Harvey reaching third and scoring on an RBI single from Holly Ponce De Leon.
Callie Ellis battled on the mound with multiple strikeouts, and the defense fought through every inning. The girls showed heart, hustle, and resilience to close out the weekend.

Overall:
This team is growing fast. Strong defense, aggressive baserunning, improved pitching, and big‑moment hits made this weekend their best yet. Proud of these girls and excited for what’s coming next! 🖤🩵🥎

What. A. Weekend! Our 8U Rebels Black McKeon girls wrapped up Saturday’s pool play with a 0-2-1 record, earning a spot in the Silver Bracket on Sunday.

The girls showed AMAZING teamwork and determination in Game 1 against the Palo Alto Redhawks. The game went into extra innings, where the Rebels battled through three rounds of the international tiebreaker. In the top of the third tiebreaker inning, the Redhawks took a 7-5 lead. But our Rebels refused to quit. Their bats came alive as they rallied to tie the game at 7-7. With two outs and the winning runs on base, Cheyenne Lummus launched a bomb to left field, driving in two runs and securing a 9-7 walk-off victory for the Rebels! 💣💥

Game 2 on Sunday was against Millbrae Mischief. Our girls made some great defensive plays to shut down the Mischief and earn a 3-1 victory, securing their spot in the Silver Bracket Championship.

The championship game was a face off between the Rebels and the Half Moon Bay Waves. Once again, our girls showed up ready to compete and delivered a 4-0 shutout victory, earning first place in the Silver Bracket Championship! 🏆

After a challenging start to the weekend, these girls battled back to bring home the championship. Way to battle, girls! 🖤🥎The 8U Rebels Black McKeon competed in the Battle of the Bay Tournament in Millbrae this weekend. After each game, the opposing team’s coach selected a Player of the Game based on exemplary plays, outstanding effort, leadership, or sportsmanship. Congratulations to our Players of the Game:

✨ Addie Mannwieler, Payton Meyer, and Madison Reab – for their outstanding pitching performances ✨
