SEASON 21 WILL BE THE LAST
Last weekend, a celebration of 21 seasons of golf was held at Rutland Country Club. There were 55 people in attendance which included friends, family and 5 former Club Champions. It was an emotional day that featured golf & good food along with stories from the past. A tribute film was shown about the Club's history and how it evolved over the years. At the end of the film it was revealed that this will be the last season for the golf club.
Over the last several years, downturns in the golf industry nationwide have lead to this difficult decision in ending golf operations here. When the course was established in 1996, it was always about having fun. The best part about golfing here was seeing friends and families having a great time while chasing a little white ball. There were many people of all ages who were introduced to the game for the first time here. We saw young players grow up and become good golfers.
The course hosted players from all over the globe which included the countries of Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, Malta, Japan, Korea, South Africa and many states from around the United States. It was a rewarding experience to meet people from far off lands.
We wish to thank all those who ever enjoyed coming out to play. Seeing players on the course having fun will be a cherished memory and be missed. To all of the those who have helped out in any way we salute you. The past 21 years have been a long gratifying journey which I would not have traded or could not have been possible without you.
Thanks for the memories,
Michael Crippen
