We’ve officially reached the halfway point of our 2026 Ohio Social Sports Fall Softball League in Lexington, and it’s time to show off the teams that have been making Wednesday nights so much fun!

🏐🥎 WHAT A WEEKEND! 🥎🏐

The Blueberry Festival may have been canceled, but that didn’t stop us from getting out there and playing!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who joined us this past weekend for the Home Run Derby and Volleyball Tournament! We’re incredibly grateful to all the players who showed up, competed, had fun, and helped us keep these events going despite the change of plans.

Special shoutout to James Secrest and Megan Arledge for stepping up and running the events. We truly appreciate the time and effort you put in to make sure everything came together!

And a massive THANK YOU to Richland Public Health for sponsoring both events and making it possible for EVERYONE TO PARTICIPATE COMPLETELY FREE! Their continued support helps us create more opportunities for people in our community to get active, connect, and have some fun together.

The festival may have been canceled, but the games went on — and we’re so glad they did!

🥎 Opening Night is HERE! 🥎

Tonight, Ohio Social Sports officially kicks off our BIGGEST softball season ever!

We're incredibly excited to welcome 140 players across 12 teams for a season full of competition, community, and fun. Whether you're playing, cheering on a friend, or just looking for something fun to do on a Wednesday evening, we'd love to see you at the ballpark!

This season also brings some exciting new additions!

We're introducing GameChanger as our official scorekeeping platform, making it easier than ever to follow your favorite teams with live scores, standings, schedules, and player stats throughout the season. Even if you can't make it to the fields, you can still keep up with all the action from wherever you are!

Come hungry! Tony on the Bun LLC will be on-site serving up delicious hot dogs, brats, and other ballpark favorites throughout the evening. It's the perfect way to enjoy dinner while catching some great softball.

Congratulations to Our 2026 Sand Volleyball Champions!

After an incredible season of diving saves, big blocks, and even bigger laughs, we're excited to congratulate Big Dig on winning the 2026 Sand Volleyball League Championship!

A huge thank you to every team and player who made this league such a success. Whether you were chasing a championship or just looking to stay active and meet new people, you helped create an amazing community on and off the court.

FREE Sports Scholarships for Richland County Seniors (60+)

Join in on the fun!

The Senior Isolation Scholarship, sponsored by the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. 5, is helping Richland County adults age 60 and older build friendships, stay active, and reconnect with their community through organized recreational sports.

If you've been feeling isolated, miss being part of a group, or simply want to try something new, this program was created for you.

Choose from:
-Pickleball
-Volleyball
-Softball

Your scholarship includes:
-FREE league registration
-Placement on a welcoming, beginner-friendly team
-Weekly games and social interaction (6–8 week seasons)
-Sport-specific equipment provided when needed
-Opportunities to participate in additional leagues, tournaments, and social events throughout the year

No sports experience is necessary.
-Whether you've played your whole life or are picking up a paddle or glove for the very first time, you'll be welcomed into a fun, supportive environment focused on friendship just as much as competition.

Who is eligible?
-This scholarship is available to Richland County residents age 60+ who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation.
-Participants will complete a brief, confidential screening using the UCLA 3-Item Loneliness Scale. The questionnaire asks how often you experience:
A lack of companionship
Feeling left out
Feeling isolated from others

A score of 4 or higher qualifies participants for the program. All responses remain completely confidential and are used only to determine eligibility and measure the program's impact.

-Through team sports, shared experiences, and a welcoming community, we're helping older adults build lasting friendships while improving their physical and emotional well-being.

Congratulations to Team Elevate, our 2026 Spring Softball Champions!

After a season full of great competition, teamwork, and LOTS of rain, Team Elevate came out on top and earned this year's championship title. Congratulations to all of their players, and thank you to every team that made this season such a fun one.

We also want to give a huge thank you to Richland Public Health for sponsoring our 2026 softball leagues and helping us continue our mission of bringing people together through recreation, friendship, and community.

While this season certainly tested everyone's patience with the weather, we're grateful for all of the players who stuck with us through the reschedules and helped us finish the season strong.
