The Austin Rifle Club Smallbore Silhouette is on the 3rd Sunday of each month. The December match is scheduled for Sunday December 21, 2025. Matches will begin by 9:30am with set up starting by 8am. We will plan on 1 or 2 40 shot matches depending on attendance. Weather looks nice, come out and shoot.

We are trying to increase participation, so all 22 rifles are welcome.

We will be shooting a standard course of fire with 22 caliber smallbore rifles at 1/5 scale chickens (40m), pigs (60m), turkeys (77m), and rams (100m). Any 22 smallbore rifle, scoped or unscoped, is fine. In addition to the traditional smallbore silhouette match, we will be trying a bench rest silhouette using 1/5 scale chickens and 1/10 scale pigs, turkeys, and rams on swingers all at 100m. This will run at the same time with the same course of fire as the small bore match, but all shooting will be at the 100m distance off of benches.

Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign that trains people to stop traumatic bleeding until professional medical help arrives.
Uncontrolled bleeding is the leading cause of preventable death from trauma. The average time for someone to bleed out after a serious injury is only 3-5 minutes, while the average response time for first responders is 7-10 minutes.
Having taken this class, I cannot recommend it enough. It includes also practical demonstrations on how to properly apply tourniquets and other stop the bleeding techniques.
If you have questions, email [email protected]

Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, will again hold the Stop the Bleed Class on Sept 23rd at 6:00 pm in the Education Building. The class is free and open to non-members, so bring friends and family. Instructors will be highly qualified members of the County Emergency Medical Services.

The class will last 2 hours approximately, so bring food if you want.
