Happy Father’s Day to the dudes who keep FMLL running! Cheers to the behind the L-screen dads, the hype playlist on the drive to the game dads, the dads on their knees in coach pitch, the bleacher dads, the coach dads, the dugout dads, and the dads speeding from work to try to see their kids play. The grandfathers seeing the time they invested in their families returned tenfold in the eyes of their grandchildren. The dads with the pep talks after a loss and the high fives after a win. And to the dads emptying buckets in BP, who know that it’s not really about the hits or the trophies, but about the time spent together, we salute you. Thanks for showing up and being great role models to ALL FMLL athletes, not just your own. 🫡

🥎 The Softball All-Star schedules are set and tournament play is underway! 10u takes on Liverpool tomorrow at 1pm at Lyndon Field. 12u takes on Solvay at 11am at Skyway Field on Taft Road. 💚Go cheer on both teams as they try to take the District title! 🍀

⚾️ Our next championship spotlight belongs to the AAA Eugene Emeralds. They won a tough fought battle with the AAA Durham Bulls, on the evening of June 12th.

💚While the Bulls played a competitive game, the 4-4 tie broke in the bottom of the 5th inning, with what would be a game winning run for the Emeralds. The final score was 5-4, with the Emeralds out on top.

💎Congratulations to the Eugene Emeralds on a great season, culminating in the division championship. Congrats also to the Durham Bulls on an excellent run.

😎 The future of FM Baseball looks bright!

⚾️ We can’t talk about championship week without shouting out the newest players to learn about the spirit of sportsmanship and friendly competition, our AA Minors!

🏟️ AA is the first level to offer championships, and it’s where the emphasis is still on skill development and having fun (as it is in every level), but it’s also a first chance for some kids to feel the thrill of victory. They also got the chance to end their season on the “big” Majors Grevelding Field!

🏆 Congrats to the AA Storm on ending the season with the championship! Congrats to the AA Riverdogs on a great season as well.

👏🏻We hope there are many years of playing baseball in your future!

👏🏻That’s a wrap on on most of our league’s regular season! The Major’s Championship, which was delayed because of a storm, was played Monday night in front of the biggest crowd of spectators all year.

🏆 The match up between the White Sox and the Yankees was a hard fought battle, with the regular season champs, the White Sox, emerging with the trophy. The one thing the scoreboard doesn’t show, however, is the camaraderie between the teams. Not many other sports have you battling at the plate against your friend from recess, or your best buddy from down the block, but that’s part of the spirit of Little League.

💚Congrats to all of the 12-year-olds, from both teams, who played on Grevelding Field for the last time. Thank you to all of the parents for their commitment to their kids’ baseball season!

🌭 Admin note: We also sold the last dog of the season on Monday night as well! Thanks for supporting Little League’s fundraising efforts through the snack shack, and think about volunteering next year when the link goes out!

Today and yesterday, in honor of their last days of high school, we would like to introduce you to our two inaugural recipients of the Len LaFollette Scholarship, in honor of the man who devoted four decades to FM Little League. Len retired from the board and from coaching last year, but his impact on our League remains strong! This year, the board recognized FM Seniors Anna Egan and Charlie Russell.

🥎 Congrats to the second of our Scholarship winners, Anna Egan. One of Anna’s coaches had this to say about her:

Anna Egan is the kind of athlete every teammate wants to play with and every coach hopes to work with. She is incredibly talented, dedicated, and hardworking. She also leads with quiet confidence and brings an infectious positivity to every team she's on. Anna is truly one-of-a-kind, and the FM softball community will miss her deeply.

Thank you to Anna, for her impact on our community, on our league, and on the girls she mentors and inspires! Congratulations on graduation, on your State Championship, and good luck next year! 🎓🤍💚

💚🤍 They’ve made history and inspired future generations along each step, both with their skill and with their character.

💚It’s post-season for most of our leagues, and this weekend we have some exciting matchups ahead!

🥎 And a big Shout out to our FM Softball Minors-Wetsig Team! They went undefeated to win the District 8 Minors South Region and head to the playoffs next week! Way to represent, girls.
