Mankato Area Adaptive Ski Program (MAASP)

Mankato Area Adaptive Ski Program (MAASP) MAASP began in the winter of 2000, with five students and three volunteers. There were just five lessons that year.

The Mankato Area Adaptive Ski Program, coordinated through Mankato Community Education and Recreation, strives to promote personal growth and life enrichment through teaching individuals with physical disabilities how to ski. The program has since grown with the addition of water ski. Each season we average 60 lessons with alpine and 40 with water ski. MAASP continues to grow each season and we lo

ok forward to serving more youth and adults with physical disabilities in southern Minnesota! The Mankato Area Adaptive Ski Program is a local group of skiers, volunteers and donors who work together to offer adults and youth with physical disabilities the opportunity to learn to ski. We have a fabulous time outdoors , while we develop friendships with volunteers and fellow-skiers.
