When we say that we are “culture first” and that we “build people through the game,” this is what we mean! Lot’s of honors, accolades, and money were doled out last night and the young men of our program were a prominent feature; buckle up, buttercups…here we go!
Current Sophomores Jackson Kadow, Blair Neuser, Fred Pederson, & Emmett Zahn were all inducted into National Honor Society, while Senior lettermen Caleb Deicher (‘24, ‘25), Benson Dickrell (‘24), and Jacob Gebhart (‘24, ‘25) received their NHS cords.
Three members of the program were recipients of a scholarship in memory of Ships Soccer Alum Evan Clark: Caleb Deicher, Mitchell Drescher, and Jacob Gebhart.
Gebhart was also the recipient of the Leo & Grace Fricke Scholarship.
Tanner Heyn was a recipient of the Tracy Sladky Memorial Scholarship.
Micah Kubsh received the Earl & Corinne Tetzlaff Scholarship.
Reed Neuser received the Russell & Harriet Liebert Scholarship.
Niran Vang was the recipient of the Eunice W. Knutsen Scholarship.
Some of our lads really got their steps in, gracing the stage multiple times!
Deicher was also a recipient of the Clarence & Blanche Dueno, and MEA Member Scholarships!
Drescher also received the Clarence & Blanche Dueno Scholarship, as well as the Dennis “Koz” Kosloski Memorial Scholarship, and the Lia Haile Community Service Award!
And, while he was only with us for a season (making him a rare 4-sport athlete that year), Benson Dickrell received the AMVETS Post 99 Scholarship, the Randy Merza Scholarship, the Bernadette “Bernie” Savage Sturm Memorial Scholarship, the WIAA Scholar Athlete Award, and the WOMT Senior (Male) Athlete of the Year!
Are we surprised? Not at all. Proud? Hella.
The standard is the standard, and we build to standard.
