💥 SUMMER IS HERE. ☀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🔥

The sun was high, the trails were dry, and by 6:00 PM more than 30 runners gathered at our home base, The Keg, ready to chase another Wednesday adventure.

A few new faces joined the crew, and before long we were flowing along the Creek toward Garden of the Gods, sharing miles, stories, and plenty of laughs.

Once we hit the trails, the real fun began.

Rolling hills. Dry dirt. Hot summer air. Red rock formations glowing under bluebird skies.

We planked at Balanced Rock! 💪🏼

Step by step, we worked our way through the less-traveled paths of the Garden, negotiating the climbs and embracing the heat until we reached our destination: Siamese Twins.

A few photos. Some trail talk. A chance to catch our breath and soak it all in.

Then it was time to head home.

Dust flying.
Legs turning over.
Smiles everywhere.

Different paces. Different stories. One shared passion.

Every week, this community gets a little bigger. New friendships are formed. New adventures begin. And every Wednesday reminds us why we keep showing up.

Not just for the miles.

For the people.

For the mountains.

For that feeling of being fully alive.

So grateful for this crew and the energy each person brings.

Join us next Wednesday. The trails are waiting. 🏔️❤️

💥OUR SATURDAY FEAT—PIKES PEAK VIA THE CRAGS ⛰️⚡

Yesterday, 13 runners gathered at The Crags Trailhead at 7:00 AM with fresh legs, high spirits, and one goal: climb our mountain.

The day started perfectly. Blue skies, cool temperatures, and a strong crew moving steadily uphill. As we approached tree line, the legs started to burn and the air got thinner, but nobody backed down. We regrouped a few times along the way (no planks this time 😄), kept a solid pace, and pushed higher.

Past Devil’s Playground, we even got to run a bit, chasing each other across the alpine terrain and enjoying that incredible feeling of moving freely above 12,000 feet.

Then the mountain changed.

The clouds grew darker. Lower. Heavier.

About a mile from the summit, thunder rolled across the sky.

We stopped to assess the situation. Everyone wanted to continue. The summit was so close.

Then lightning struck nearby.

Decision made.

No summit is worth risking a life.

We turned around and headed down fast. Then came the hail. First small pellets, then larger ones stinging our heads and faces as we descended with a renewed sense of urgency.

No stops. No complaints. Just great runners working together to get safely below tree line.

And when we finally reached the shelter of the forest... relief.

Did we summit? Not this time—Stephen did, because he was on a mission to go down the other side—20 miles back to Manitou. He made it! 💥💪🏼

But the mountain will always be there.

What mattered most was bringing everyone home safely after an incredible day in the high country.

📏 12.3 miles
📈 3,800 ft of climbing

A little scary. A little humbling. A lot of fun. Just EPIC!

And of course, we wrapped up the adventure the proper way—with food, drinks, and plenty of stories at Paradox Brewery. 🍻

💙🩵💚 GLOBAL RUNNING DAY 🌎🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️⛰️

Why do we run?

For some, it's fitness.
For others, competition.

But deep down, most of us run for something much harder to explain.

We run to feel alive.

We run to reconnect with nature, with ourselves, and with each other. We run for the rush of climbing a mountain under our own power, for the silence between footsteps, for the laughter shared on the trail, and for the stories that somehow become better every time they're told.

That's what Global Running Day is really about.

Not pace.
Not distance.
Not records.

Joy.
Connection.
Adventure.
Community.

Yesterday, we celebrated all of it.

We welcomed new faces, watched our community continue to grow, and shared miles with people who understand that trail running is about so much more than running.

It's about gathering.

It's about showing up after a long day and finding energy you didn't know you had.

It's about helping each other through tough climbs, waiting at trail junctions, and of course... making the fast runners plank until the last runner arrives. That's the rule. We don't make them. We just enforce it. 😄

Some of us run fast.
Some of us run slow.

But out here, paces are different while passion is the same.

And that connection is inevitable.

As an organizer, I left feeling incredibly grateful. 🙏🏼

Grateful for every person who showed up.
Grateful for every conversation.
Grateful for every laugh.
Grateful for a community that continues to grow through a shared love of trails, mountains, and adventure.

After the run, we returned to our home base to do what runners do best: compare Strava results, relive every climb, celebrate every victory, share food, drinks, photos, and laugh a little louder than necessary.

The miles are great.

But it's the people who make this special.

Thank you to every single person who joined us.

Thank you for bringing your energy, your stories, your encouragement, and your love for the trails.

Here's to many more miles together.

Happy Global Running Day. 🌲🏔️❤️

Grit on the way up, flow on the way down, and a crew that makes every mile better.

⛰️ “Incline 1,300 to Letter M Run” was phenomenal! 32 runners last night— including 8 new faces— showed up with their best attitude to tackle those wet miles. ☔️

The weather was just perfect, misty and moist, with the kind of soft air that goes in smoothly. The mountain and trails looked happy and serene. Those clouds were like ghosts descending from the hills in silence. The views— breathtaking.

On our first stop to regather at the base of the Incline we did it again— planking time! That’s becoming the norm of the ManitouRunClub: If you have a faster pace then you plank until the last runner arrives. 🙌🏼

Then running (flying) down NRT is always so much fun with its fast and steady descent. Once at the intersection we started going up to Ute trail with the typical challenging climb and afterwards, that hidden trail that takes us to the Letter M. We had to get that photo taken! 📸 (thanks for the great photo!).

Running back through Manitou’s neighborhood and going down the stairs to Miramont Castle was very peaceful and quiet. Wet streets. Cloudy skies. Happy people ready to go back to our hub to enjoy and share the camaraderie, the comfort food, epic stories and laughter.

Life IS good people! We are a group who enjoy sharing amazing experiences. Join us on our next Wednesday run. 🏃🏻‍♀️ 🏃🏼 🏃🏽‍♂️

🎉 BIG cheers for our youngest Manitou Run Club legend — EZRA! 🏅🏔️🔥

At just 9 years old, Ezra completed his FIRST marathon this weekend in Wyoming… and absolutely crushed it.

⏱️ 5 hours 45 minutes
⛰️ Hilly course
📍 ~8,500 ft elevation
🎯 Goal: sub-7 hours

Mission more than accomplished. 💥

If you’ve ever run with Ezra, you already know:
He loves leading the group, charges uphill with zero hesitation, somehow always has energy left, and does it all with a huge smile on his face.

What makes this even more inspiring isn’t just the finish time — it’s the attitude, determination, and joy he brings to every mile. No complaining. No ego. Just pure love for running and adventure.

Watching young runners grow up on these trails is something really special, and Ezra keeps reminding all of us what this sport is really about:
having fun, believing in yourself, and discovering you’re capable of more than you imagined.

We’re all incredibly proud of you, Ezra.
The mountains are yours, buddy. 🏔️👏🔥

We’re celebrating him tomorrow after our run, join us!!! 🧁🎉

Kudos to his dad: Matt Rodgers your kiddo is AMAZING! 🤙🏼
