Anyone in or around Colorado Springs get your kids signed up for this camp in July! Parents can also sign up for their own group lesson if they want to learn to play with their kids. Come on down!

Come on down to Trailblazer Elementary in Colorado Springs from 9am-1pm tomorrow! This is a kids event to learn how to play on a temporary kid friendly course! Parents are welcome to play along with their kids and discs will be available to borrower or buy if you don't have your own!

Our coach Joel Binford will be on site to teach you how to play. There will also be a distance competition! Parents are welcome to learn and play either the 6 hole or 9 hole loop and participate in the fun alongside your kids! There is no requirement to attend Trailblazer Elementary to come down and have a great time!

⛓Meet Boulder, CO’s coach, Xavier Locke! ⛓

“My Background: I started playing disc golf in college in 2014 for the Ferris State University Bulldogs Collegiate Disc Golf Team. I was fortunate to learn quickly from the existing players and helped contribute to 2 National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships in 2015, and 2017. Since then, I have continued competing (and growing my disc golf collection to 500+ discs) and have reached a career high PDGA rating of 972 (as of July 2022). I aspire to become 1,000+ rated and spend some time as a touring professional. I have a background as a Snowboard Instructor where I taught a range of age and skill levels. I am currently an Engineering Manager where I continue my passion for teaching. Through these experiences, I have sharpened my skills in teaching others by being a good listener, and observing the learning styles of students. I have found that each person learns through different methods and in some combination of the following learning styles: [visual (watch me), audio (listen to instruction), physical (perform yourself)]. I have alot of familiarity with Innova and Discraft and can recommend discs based on arm speed and preferred shot type. Together, we can improve your disc golf game, one shot at a time!”

“My name is Kyle Harrigan, I have been playing disc golf since 2010 when my friends took me out casually to Johnny Roberts, gave me a DX leopard and told me to give it a go! I have been an active member of the Colorado Disc Golf Community through my time on the board of the Mile High Disc Golf Club of which I am currently President, running and competing in events since 2011 (over 150 sanctioned events played, and over 75 events as TD or Assistant TD). I am also the co-founder of the Colorado Disc Golf Hall of Fame and the Operations Director for the National Amateur Disc Golf Tour. Disc Golf is a major portion of my life!”

Meet Colorado Coach, Ky Kline, 🥏

“I started playing disc golf in college in 2011, where my home course was in the deep woods of Southwest Virginia. I moved out to Colorado after graduating and played here and there, but really dove back into the sport again in 2020. Since then, I have competed in almost 30 tournaments, including NADGT National Championships in 2021 and play almost exclusively in the FA1 division. My power throw is the rightie forehand (though my backhand is catching up), and my main focus is precision golf; I strive to hit the pin on any shot, from any angle, within 100 ft. Because of this, my philosophy is to practice as much as possible under imperfect conditions, and so I concentrate a lot on incorporating mini-games, like HORSE, into my training. To me, disc golf is about challenging yourself, but only if you're having fun doing it. My ultimate goal as both a player and a coach are to bring this sport to as many people as possible, and I am especially interested in igniting a passion for the game in women, children, and the elder community.”

Meet coach Lucas Mendez out of Richmond, Virginia!

“I've been playing disc golf for about 6 years now. I was hooked from day one and love sharing the sport with others. I like to think I have a well rounded game with a variety of shots in my bag. I love throwing putters off the tee! I just want to grow the sport and offer what I know.”

Lucas has been coaching on and off the course for several years. He has encouraged others to pick up the sport and provided coaching to several of his friends including but not limited to his brother in law, best friends, as well as his own partner and fellow ODS coach, Taylor.
