Meet Josh. We hiked up Barr and went over to check out conditions on Manitou Incline and Colleen says " Hmm. So many people today. I am surprised we don't know anyone," to which Josh says " Hello! My name is Josh. What's your name?"... So that we would know someone hiking on Incline. LOL.

I hike the Incline most Tuesdays. And every week I think it's beautiful (though there are certainly many more scenic hikes). Incline is made up of 2786 steps ...or so...and I find it to be very efficient. Just a good solid two hours of leg and glute work that is not indoors. Anyway, sometimes I still get knocked out by a particularly gorgeous sunrise. Enjoy!!

Well, the last post I made in September said I was going to start updating the page again. That did not happen. I still go once a week, but have been negligent....I do love updating people on the trail conditions and giving people My perspective and my photos of the beauty of this particular hike....hope I can get back to it.

It was an absolutely beautiful morning. I thought it was going to be super icy. It was cold, and overcast, but happily, just a lot of packed snow. Not a lot of ice.

Did I mention that I stopped doing my weekly Incline as I am training for something that happens this Sunday. I will definitely be back at it after a fairly long hiatus. I hope all is well on the mountain. I miss my Incline friends.
This is not my photo, but dang...it's a beautiful shot!

At 7am this morning, there was snow and ice...maybe the last 200 steps were a little sketchy. We had the right equipment ( spikes!) And it was a beautiful, bluebird day.

Had a great time Friday. Still some packed snow. No ice to speak of, but I always feel better w traction.

It's the season. Fewer people, nicer temps, and decorated trees, though " Monty's tree" needs a little more bling ( will take care of that next week) By the way, friends, Incline will be closed Tues and Wed, Dec 14 and 15. Please respect the closure and find another beautiful hike to do. Cheers!!

Well friends, I have not done a great job of posting. But I have done a good job of sticking to my once a week trip up Incline. I don't know how many different ways to take a new picture of the same awesome, beautiful staircase. Lol.
I have overheard some hysterical conversations over my years on the mountain: lovers, first dates, parents and kids ...it has been a pleasure.
I wish for all of you a happy, healthy holiday season.

It's a hot one. And it's a tough hike. Visitors to the Incline: this is a no joke hike. There are so many beautiful places to enjoy Colorado's beauty. I am seeing so many overheated, underprepared hikers out there. You can bail out way before the Incline's original bailout- turn right (as you are facing the mountain) and take the Ute Trail down. Take a day-or two- to acclimate. We love visitors...just want you to make it!😁

Get out there and enjoy the beauty of Colorado!
