What a day it was!!! Let me tell you all about it. Unfortunately, one of our boy’s relay swimmers could not compete this morning because they were under the weather. We hope he feels better soon. Fortunately, we had an alternate swimmer with us and able to fill out those two relays.
For the boys 100 medley relay, the freshly assembled group of Rodryk, Asher, Cooper, and Zach were able to finish as state runner-ups in a team record of 2:04.64. They later went on to take 4th place in the 100 free relay.
As previously posted, Emma Hoeve is our first ever state champion in the 200 freestyle. She beat her PB by over 15 seconds to be the best of the best.
In her 100 freestyle, she took 11th place in a PB of more than two seconds: 1:25.20.
Campbell Beckman went a personal best and team record of 21.47 in the 25 freestyle en route to 20th place. In the 25 backstroke, Campbell took 4th place out of 32 entries.
Rodryk Barker contributed big time on those relays. As well as a 14th place in the 25 freestyle and 17th in the 25 backstroke.
Cooper was thrust into the butterfly leg during the medley relay and despite not practicing it much, did an excellent job. He also took 13th place in the 25 freestyle and a 4th place for the 25 backstroke, getting back on the podium.
I can’t say enough about Asher, who worked hard on his breaststroke to be ready for the medley relay. Zach learned he was going to swim in the meet about an hour before warmups, and deserves a lot of thanks for filling in for his teammates.
I’m very proud of you all!
