The first ever Emerald Swimming Bootcamp is in the books. We had over 40 kids attend over the 4 days. It was great to see all of our returning varsity and sharks swimmers as well as new faces that are joining the team this November.

Hello all!

I hope you’re all excited for our bootcamp tomorrow! Due to ongoing construction at the school, we are asking athletes to enter in the side door between the school and football stadium. The doors will be propped open. Please do not park in the teacher’s parking lot.

Hi Sharks!

Our friends at Wildcat Aquatics Club (Marquette) have announced that Fitter & Faster Swim Camps will be in the U.P. for a two-day technique camp! Fitter & Faster has an extensive roster of national-level coaches from around the world to provide expert-level technique coaching.

The camp is scheduled for Friday, August 28th and Saturday, August 29th and will be hosted at Westwood High School in West Ishpeming. There are four 2-and-a-half sessions and parents/athletes can select which and how many sessions to attend. Registration is open to ALL swimmers 9 and older, club and/or high school.

This camp is primarily focused on butterfly and breaststroke technique.

Day 1 Session 1: breaststroke technique
Day 1 Session 2: butterfly technique
Day 2 Session 1: starts, underwaters, and butterfly breakouts
Day 2 Session 2: open turns, breaststroke pullouts and finishes

Come one, come all! The coaches of Manistique’s Varsity team and Manistique Sharks are putting on a four day summer boot camp to get our swimmers back in shape. August 3-6 from 9-11am in Manistique High School’s pool. It’s free to all swimmers and inclusive to any youth who is interested in swimming next winter. Hi Sharks and families. A bit of an unusual one today. A couple weeks ago at the Marquette swim meet, Marquette’s coach was cleaning the area around the pool and found a pair of Sharks sweatpants. They are a size small. Seeing as they were at Marquette High School, I’m unsure how they would have ended up there. If they belong to anyone, please reach out and I’ll get them to you.

After the long and grueling NMU swim camp, two of our swimmers stayed in Marquette and took part in the Wildcat Aquatic Club’s annual summer invitational. Emma and Charlotte E. battled serious fatigue to deliver some great results and personal bests.

There are Sharks in the pool at NMU! Bryce, Charlotte M., Claire, Charlotte E., and Emma are all honing their skills during this 5-day swim camp with NMU’s coaches. We’re all so proud of them!

Rudyard has a great facility with people who care and can run a great meet. The Sharks have enjoyed attending their meets the last three years.

Rudyard Area Schools would like to thank all of the pool staff and volunteers. This past school year, Rudyard was the home site to FIVE different swim organizations. This would not be possible without the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, our volunteers, and the dedicated Rudyard Area Schools staff that keep our facility maintained and running.
