Last night CSC JC hit another milestone. We have about 20 BJJ practitioners, but as we all know with the hustle of life it can be difficult getting everyone in on the same nights. Last night we had double digits training on the mats! We’ve come close several times, and last night we checked that off the box. Thank you to everyone who is apart of making CSC JC happen. Let’s keep getting better and growing this culture into the community. 🥋 ❤️

Final video of the stabilize and minimize series. Where we used a 2 on 1 tie up. Why consider the 2 on 1 tie up for self defense? If you are in Law Enforcement the individual you are trying to apprehend doesn’t have access to the firearm on your far hip. You can see a strike coming from the far arm and have enough time to react and move or defend. From a takedown perspective you don’t have to worry about the back of someone’s head bouncing off whatever hard surface you are on like you may have to with a double leg takedown, so low impact takedown opportunities. Last but not least the ability to detach from the individual out of self preservation if the situation is not safe to continue.

This is a creative option from a 2 on 1 tie up. We use the tie up to enter a Darce choke set up, to either finish the choke from the feet or drag it to the ground where we also have more options from any form of front headlock scenario. Guillotine variations or anaconda choke can be chained together from one threat to the next. All the while able and ready to disengage for self preservation.

Continuing 2 on 1 series. Self defense strategies. Often times first responders or law enforcement will be involved in a scenario where the individual is pulling away for one reason another. In this video the individual is pulling away, and the option to take the back and take the connection to the ground is available. Focus on stabilizing the situation while minimizing damage to both parties involved.

2 on 1 tie to a front headlock. Once in the front headlock it may take a few snap down efforts while you sprawl your hips back to get them to the ground. When the exchange reaches the ground you can make a decision to go for a go behind to take the back. Or one of many choke/strangulation options like guillotine variations, anaconda, or darce chokes.
