The Ogre's Forge Welcome to The Ogre's Forge, custom knives of all types including bowie, utility, hunting, combat and coming soon, KITCHEN.

We make knives of all styles and out of any materials. All our knives are made in our shop with various steels including 52100 high carbon, ATS-34 Stainless steel and O1 Tool steel. Handle styles range from hidden tang partial stacked, full stacked to full tang slab handles and mosaic. Our handle materials range from whitetail to caribou antlers, to exotic woods such as Brazilian tiger-wood, blood

wood, desert iron wood and man made materials including micarta and carbon fiber. We make all our own sheaths as well utilizing 10-12 oz leather in three different styles, traditional, pouch and a wrap around with retention snap.

There is nothing quite like watching a knife come together, but seeing the final piece under the lights is the best part.

This 4-inch Skinner features a razor-sharp 52100 high carbon steel blade, designed for serious field use. To give it a timeless look, we paired a rich cherry frame handle with a nickel guard and a custom bronze and copper collar. The contrast between the warm wood, the rich copper tones, and the bright nickel guard is exactly what we were aiming for.

This custom 3" skinner pairs a matte-finished Nitro-V steel blade with a bulletproof full-tang design. Complete with a stainless guard and a stunning stabilized elk antler handle. Tough enough for a lifetime of hard work.

There is nothing quite like pulling a fresh blade out of the forge. We put a lot of work into this custom build, and now we want to give it away to one of you!

The blade is handcrafted from 1095 High Carbon steel, measuring 3.75 inches with a matte finish and a stainless steel guard.For the handle, we used a beautiful acrylic hybrid.

Ok, I've shared with you my favorite style of knife this one though, this one is the favorite of the Lady Ogre. This is a Japanese kiridashi, its basically a utility knife that is used just about every medium in Japan. From the kitchen to the leather shop, or the carpenter shop to the office, this style gets a lot of use. The handles differ quite a bit but they are always small.

This one is a challenge that I give those who frequent my shop, how big a knife can you forge from a one inch square that is 3/16 inch thick. This is what I forged from those parameters.

The handle is done in a Japanese tsuka-ito style with some local osage orange lending color and body to the handle. The blade is hand sanded and given etched black finish.

This custom 5.5-inch knife was handmade by an active duty Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Soldier. Every single detail tells a story:The Blade: Hand forged and matte finish using S7 high-carbon steel reclaimed directly from a .50 Cal Dearmer—a disrupter tool used by EOD techs to safely render live explosives inert.
The Handle: Beautiful stabilized spalted red oak cast in a light smoke-tinted clear acrylic. Representing smoke and igniton wires.

The Details: The butt cap and guard are cast with copper wires collected by this EOD Tech on duty. The two internal wires meant to represent the electric ignition of a .50 caliber round which is what drives the whole syste. They are connected to the .50 cal casing inset into the buttcap. All repurpised into a beautiful work of art.

A literal piece of military history, made by a Soldier in an old vets shop, sharing experiences and building new ones.
