Yep, I lost my period. It hasn’t happened to me since 2019 so I’m pretty annoyed. Especially when I didn’t feel like I went that hard with my deficit.
But what I think and what my body is actually telling me are two different things. And to be honest where as in my early 30’s I might have ignored it for a little longer, I don’t want to be f**king with my hormones in my 40’s.
When my period didn’t come until day 40 while I was on holiday I put it down to a one off. But once I got back and realised it wasn’t on its way I knew I had to take action.
I wonder whether if I had stayed that lean and stayed on holiday I would have been fine, but add the stress of going back to work and normal day to day life and the stress accumulation was just too much.
So I’m a kilo up and I am actually quite confident it’s not too long around the corner.
I’m posting this because honestly I don’t think enough women talk about losing their periods when they get lean. We should be more open to talking about it and the negative side effects of getting lean. Because it’s so easy to only see the good stuff, but there are always two sides.
