🚴‍♀️🌞 Bike Wash and Bike Drive Event Update 🌞🚴‍♂️

Hey everyone! This weekend's event is going to be a blast, and we've made a slight change to beat the heat!

🕢 New Start Time:

Meet at 8:30 AM at Mandeville Trailhead
On bikes and rolling by 9:00 AM

Since the heat index is so high, we want to ride earlier and then cool off with a bike wash and some fun water games.

💦 Water Games:

Water Balloon Toss on Bikes
Sponge Relay Race
Bike Splash Zone

Remember to bring a change of clothes – we can't promise to keep everyone dry at this event! 😉

An idea was floated in the shop the other day: gravel campout.

We find a spot to camp (definition tbd) and on a Saturday (date tbd) afternoon, set up camp, and go do a chill 25ish miles of night gravel (NO DROP). Get back to camp, bonfire and beers. Wake up, breakfast, then 50-75(?)mi of gravel. Two groups for Sunday morning: party paced and fast folks. Break camp upon return.

For weather and logistics, thinking late Sept/early Oct. Participant numbers will be capped in accordance with camping space. Location, maybe Louisiana State Parks has a spot they know of? We tend to focus on BCSP but they've got some hidden gems across the state. BYOB/food but the shop will bring a grill for sure.

Who's down? Baton Rouge Bike Club & Westbank Gravel Club spring to mind tbh. Those crews looks for excuses to get muddy and drink a beer.
