I got my first real training session in today, I’m not sure which half marathon I’m shooting for at the moment but it won’t be until late summer/early fall. I accomplished my main mission of running a full mile without walking. I have a large goal in mind that would be about year from now but first this period of craziness in the world needs to get sorted out!

Yesterday morning I had a workout partner! It’s not often our schedules align where we can workout together but when it does it’s great! She pushes me to work harder and push through to complete each exercise. Fitness probably wouldn’t be as big of a priority in my life without her!

REAL TALK:
I’ve been CRAVING McDonalds for over a week and almost stopped on the way home today. I’ve been battling bronchitis for a week and a half and today was a rough day of coughing my lungs out.

I just wanted some comfort food. But I didn’t stop at the ol Golden Arches. Instead I went home without a clue what I was going to have for supper.

My wife is working late tonight and hasn’t had time to meal prep lunches for the week so I made some for her. While cooking those lunches I came up with this salad idea!

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing to treat yourself once in a while but I struggle with making the healthy food choices. Far too often I give in to what is going to taste better vs. what is best for my body. Today I said no, today I WON.

1 hour and 2 minutes til the start of the Bismarck half marathon! Good luck to all the runners (us included)!

I have a half marathon coming up in a little less than a month. This is my best run so far in my very limited training. I have a long ways to go but I basically ran 4x times farther today than my previous runs so I’m not discouraged!!
