Owner and Trainer
Steph was born and ra
ised in Mandan, ND. Growing up, her life was centered around sports and competition. She participated in cross country, golf, track, softball, soccer, and basketball. Basketball was always #1 as her dad, Marv, was a successful basketball coach with the Mandan Braves girls basketball program so she grew up around the sport. Steph graduated from Mandan High School in 2011 where she became one of Mandan’s best girls basketball players in history. She surpassed the 1,000 point mark, holds the most steals in a season record, was selected to the all-conference team three times, was selected to the all-state team, was team captain, was part of a state championship title, and played in the Lions All-Star game, along with many more accomplishments. She went on to continue her basketball career at Valley City State University where she had a successful 4 years. Throughout 2011-2015 she was a 4-year starter, an NAIA Scholar Athlete, a team captain, participated in 2 NAIA national tournaments, and much more. During these years, she earned her degree in the field of Exercise Science with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning. She wanted to turn her passion for fitness and sport into a career where she could share her knowledge and experience with others. After graduating from VCSU, Steph wanted to come back home and open a facility where she would be able to help others live a healthy lifestyle and also help athletes in the area become elite athletes by unlocking their full potential. About Mark Zinke
Training Assistant and Coach
Mark was also born and raised in Mandan, ND. He participated in sports throughout his entire life. He competed in baseball, soccer, track and field, basketball, and football. He was a successful basketball player for Mandan and really excelled on the football field. In basketball he was a team captain and helped the Braves win a WDA championship along with a runner-up finish in the state championship. In football he was a 2 year, 2-way starter at tight end and linebacker, a team captain, a 2 time all-conference selection, and was West Regions tight end leader in receiving and touch downs. Mark went on the play college football for the Valley City State University Vikings as a tight end and punter. He was a 3-year starter, a team captain, a 4 time NSAA conference champion, a participant in 2 national playoffs, and VCSU’s all-time leader in average yards per punt. In 2016, Mark earned his degrees in Physical Education and Health Education. He also finished with a minor in Athletic Coaching. His passion of physical activity and sports turned into a career that he enjoys very much. He is currently a teacher in the Mandan Public School district, a freshman football coach, and the head sophomore girls basketball coach for the Braves. His passion for coaching and his performance training experiences will be a great asset to The Lab and all athletes involved.
