Club News:
We have added a new club officer; Tracie Skampo is our Entrance and Marketing Manager. You have seen her at the gate helping to keep us organized. Welcome Tracie. We’re going to keep the track going in the same direction this year with some improvements to the current direction, this is based on your feedback from last season’s surveys. As a member your track comments and recommendations are always welcome.
Membership dues have NOT changed this year. The membership dues are $90 annually and $15 at the gate. All Guests have changed will be $40. Remember, you will receive a one-time $20 REFUND pending completion of a non-ride day work detail. The refund will be provided at the gate on the following ride of the completed work detail. Same as last year.
Last year we had we had a few rides that pushed the limits of the facilities, we had a quite a few riders who came out for the first time and not sponsored by a current member. That’s not quite the intent of our club. We put together a few bullet points that helps explain our IHMX Club.
Some general rules for new members.
· The #1 goal of Irish Hills is to ride our dirt bikes with our friends. We don’t make money at this. We don’t want to babysit people acting dumb. We will remove anyone acting irresponsibly.
· We are NOT Baja, Twisted or Log Road. We don’t have “personnel” working at the track. It is 100% non-paid, volunteer effort by a small group of people. Please help out if you can by coming out on Saturdays before a ride pick rocks, pick up litter, etc. anything helps. Thanks!
· Please ride as if you are riding on someone’s backyard (you kinda are). There are different skill levels and bike sizes on the track, so please be courteous. Ride as if you are riding with your friends. We split it into groups when it gets too busy, but please be safe. And have fun!
· If someone, crashes or falls down, please flag for them until they are clear of the track or get going again. If you must exit the track, do it safely. Please try to flag before a jump rather than on the landing!
· If someone crashes and needs medical attention, find our medic or an officer. Our medic (Steve) parks on the plateau / infield and has a designated parking spot with a red cross flag. Immediately, find Steve or an officer wearing bright neon green jersey bearing the Comp Team logo.
· Please be courteous on the property. If you pack it in, pack it out. Take all trash and please don’t litter.
· You can camp on the Saturday night of the ride.
· No dogs please.
· There are restrooms and concessions in the clubhouse. FREE water in the clubhouse!
· Please do not ride your bike up the walking path or the grassy hill to the clubhouse. If a spectator needs a ride to the restroom, you may ride your bike up the driveway, but please don’t ride near the gazebo. Park it against a tree down the hill a bit and walk the last 50ft. You cannot pit at the top of the hill.
· Officer’s/track personnel wear fluorescent shirts/jerseys. If someone needs help or you have a question, look for one of us.
· We are all guests on the property. The property is owned by the Huron Valley NightHawk’s M/C (HVNH). Our club operates under a subsidiary called the HVNH “Comp Team”. Although we have been called/known as “Irish Hills MX”, you are also a “HVNH Comp Team” member. The M/C allows us to operate on their property and assumes you are aware that you’re a “Comp Team” member. Please be courteous.
· As a member You may bring a guest. You are sponsoring them. You must be present at the ride and are responsible for them. Guest fees are $40 for the day. They must have proof of health insurance at sign in. If your guest likes the track and would like to sign up, please have them contact me or any officer.
· The kid’s track is for beginner level, small displacement bikes. We do allow supervised riding on the big track after 3pm. We will set aside some time (usually 15-20min) an hour after 3pm for the mini’s. This is a good time to get “Junior” some exposure on the big track but please have someone supervising (riding with) them closely.
And that’s about it. Have fun, be safe. As always, please feel free to contact me with questions/concerns. Thank you.
