🧹⚾️ PANTHERS SWEEP! ⚾️🧹

And most importantly, Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandfathers, and father figures who have supported Panthers baseball all season long. We appreciate everything you do! 💙⚾️

The Panthers made the trip to Biglerville on Sunday and came home with two wins, taking Game 1 by a score of 4-3 and completing the sweep with a 5-1 victory in Game 2.

Joey Bodmer got the Panthers on the board early in game 1 torpedo-ing a 2-run homer over the fence before coming on to record the save. Evan Paul earned the win after 6 strong innings, allowing 0 earned runs while striking out 5.

Bob Taylor was the hero, delivering the game-winning RBI single to give the Panthers a 4-3 lead in the top of the 7th.

Joey wasn’t done.

In Game 2, he turned in one of the best pitching performances of the season, tossing a complete game while allowing just 1 run over 7 innings and striking out 6. For the day, Joey finished with 8 innings pitched, 1 run allowed, 1 win, and 1 save, lowering his ERA to 2.20 on the season.

The late-game magic continued in the nightcap. Locked in a 1-1 game entering the 7th inning, the Panthers exploded for 4 runs in the top half of the frame to pull away for the 5-1 win.

The top of the order continued to set the tone offensively. Ethan Brathuhn went 3-for-4, Christian Zito added 2 hits, and Bob Taylor went 2-for-3. The trio combined for 4 runs scored and 2 RBI in Game 2.

A great day of baseball, a big road sweep, and a perfect way to spend Father’s Day.

🐾⚾️ Rough day at the office for the Panthers. ⚾️🐾

North Carroll fell 10-2 to Hanover Saturday at Diller Field despite collecting 10 hits on the afternoon.

The top of the lineup did its job, as Ethan Brathuhn, Christian Zito, and Bob Taylor combined to go 8-for-12 at the plate. Zito and Bob each recorded 3 hits and drove in a run.

On the mound, Ben Coleman and Ethan Brathuhn both turned in solid efforts. Brathuhn shouldered the bulk of the workload, tossing 4.2 innings in relief while allowing just 2 earned runs in his first pitching appearance of the season. Unfortunately, the defense wasn’t able to back up the pitching staff, and the Panthers couldn’t capitalize on several offensive opportunities.

The good news? No time to dwell on it.

The Panthers are right back at it tomorrow with a doubleheader against the Biglerville Black Sox as they look to bounce back and finish the weekend strong. 💪🐾

🐾⚾️ Another gritty win for the Panthers! ⚾️🐾

The Panthers picked up another hard-fought victory Thursday night at Christmas Tree Park, defeating the Mason-Dixon Rebels 7-5.

The scoring got started in the 2nd inning when Ben Coleman scorched a leadoff triple past the right fielder. Griffin Bass followed with an RBI single to bring Coleman home before eventually scoring himself on an RBI double from Christian Zito. Bob Taylor capped off the inning with an RBI single as the Panthers jumped out to an early advantage.

Christian Zito led the offensive attack with 3 RBI, while he and Bob Taylor combined to go 5-for-9 at the plate and drive in 4 runs. Bass added a pair of RBI as well.

On the mound, Spencer Monroe (W, 2-1) turned in another strong performance, working 6 innings while striking out 5 to earn his second win of the season in consecutive appearances. Joey Bodmer closed the door in the 7th, firing a hitless inning to pick up his second save of the year.

The Panthers will look to keep the momentum rolling into a busy weekend on the road:

🐾⚾️ THE COMEBACK KIDS DO IT AGAIN! ⚾️🐾

The Panthers split a doubleheader with the New Oxford Twins, rallying from behind to claim a 4-3 victory in Game 2.

Trailing 3-0 entering the 6th inning, Joey Bodmer delivered the biggest swing of the day, crushing a game-tying 3-run homer to center field. Just two batters later, Christian Zito drove home Griffin Bass with a go-ahead RBI single to center, giving the Panthers a 4-3 lead they would not surrender.

Those four runs were all Spencer Monroe needed. The Panthers’ right-hander went the distance, tossing a complete-game victory while allowing 3 runs on 7 hits and striking out 6 over 7 innings.

Game 1 saw the Panthers fall just short in a 4-3 loss despite a strong effort from Evan Paul, who allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits while striking out 5 over 5 innings of work.

At the plate, Kevin Burnham was unstoppable, going a perfect 5-for-5 on the day with 2 doubles. Tyler Vonella added 3 hits of his own, finishing 3-for-4, while Bob Taylor continued his terrific season with a 2-hit day that included a 2-run double in Game 1. Max Smith also picked up his first extra base-hit of the year smashing a double over the right fielder’s head in game 1.

Well look to keep the momentum going Thursday night back at Christmas Tree Park at 6pm vs Mason Dixon and the Rebels! 🐾🔥
