Hello, we are currently closed due to CORONUS-19, but we are aggressively looking for a new location. Please come back frequently because we are now in negotiations with a landlord in Manchester.

If you are suffering aikido withdrawal, please call the listed phone number because we are holding occasional classes in weapons on Saturday mornings in Windsor Locks. The classes occur in our backyard, do they happen only when the weather permits.

For those of you who do not yet know, our annual spring seminar is this coming Saturday, June 27th. Registration is from 9 to 10 and is followed by training and a Q&A session until about 4:30 p.m. when our pot luck BBQ will begin. If you are in the area and even if you do not have your keiko-gi with you, drop in and visit with friends that perhaps you haven't seen for a while.

2015 has started well. Practices have been exciting with good vigor and upbeat spirits shone by all.
This is especially good with Kanchu Geiko just around the corner. It will run from Jan. 12th to the 21st. Will you be one of those receiving a certificate of accomplishment?
Our New Year's party will be on the ensuing Saturday, Jan. 24th. Party hours will be posted later, but the location will at the home of Mike and Leslie.

Yesterday's seminar was an unqualified success with three shihan in attendance. Of course, Ray Farinato was there as the instructor, but he was joined by Dick Stroud and Michael Sheahon who thoroughly enjoyed training with new and old friends alike. Many thanks to everyone who attended and to those who put so much effort in making everything go so smoothly.

The weekend of November 7, 8 and 9, Aikido Hartford will serve as the venue for the fall regional seminar of the Birankai. As a result, all regular classes are cancelled, both for aikido and Tang Soo Do.

Last Saturday Bill Moore and John Coratola successfully passed the 2nd kyu test. Congratulations to both.

This year our demo at the Dragon Boat and Asian Festival proved blister-free. Unlike last year when our feet sizzled like bacon, this year we armored our toes with tabi and cotton socks. As a result, we had a very good demo. In fact, afterwards while our members were searching for food from among the many ethnic food wagons, they received glowing comments from people who had been in the audience.
I want to thank all our members who participated in the preparations, those who served on the mats and manned the tent, and those who cleaned up and returned the mats to the dojo. Kudos to everyone.

On Saturday we had our quarterly exam and successfully promoted three members to new ranks. Congratulations to Alice Fairfield (nikyu), Duncan Pickard (ikkyu), and John Chipman (nidan). They all did well and we are proud of their success.

Congratulations to Duncan Pickard for surviving the ten days of Kanchuu Geiko. He will be the only recipient of the coveted Certificate of Completion for 2014. If you did not survive this event, please shoot for the Shochuu Geiko award this summer.
