The official beginning of full concentration on 358 racing was a successful one last weekend.

It was a double feature night right out of the box and we came home with 2 top 10 finishes (9th and 7th). The car is fast, we had fun and it was refreshing to be able to race hard and clean all night long while in contention for the win.

The remainder of the season will depend on work schedules, mother nature, time, etc. More to come soon on where we go next!

Reminder...

I will no longer be in competiton with a crate car at Devils Bowl starting tonight. The crate engine is sold and we are 100% focused on Modified competition from here on.

The equivelent of a heart transplant for the race car is in process... In my world, horsepower solves problems!! 🤣🏁🏁

Looking forward to some "horsepower happiness" next weekend!

THE END OF AN ERA... THE START OF A NEW CHAPTER.

After a lot of thought, I've made the decision to hit the reset button on our racing program for the remainder of the 2026 season.

Effective immediately, we'll be shifting our focus exclusively to DIRTCAR 358 Modified competition. As a result, all remaining crate races at Devil's Bowl Speedway have been removed from our schedule. As our schedule allows, we fully intend to return to Devil's Bowl to compete in 358 Modified events.

This wasn't an easy decision, but it's one that has been on my mind for well over a year. Going into the 2026 season, I had no intention of running the crate program. At the last minute, I decided to give it one more shot, hoping I would rediscover the excitement that first drew me back to it in 2019. Unfortunately, that has not happened, so its time for a change.

Anyone who knows me knows that Devil's Bowl is my favorite race track. I absolutely love racing there. It has given me some incredible memories over the years, and I can't thank everyone enough for the support you've shown our team. This isn't goodbye to Devil's Bowl—it's simply a change in the division we'll be racing whenever our schedule lines up.

I also want to be clear—this decision isn't a reflection on the 602 crate program. I believe it's a great class with a lot of talented racers, and it's been good for the sport. It just isn't the program that fits me as a driver/owner anymore.

I've realized I'd rather race a little less, spend the extra time making sure our car is fully prepared, and enjoy every minute of being at the racetrack. That's why I race in the first place.

As time has gone on, I've realized that the amount of time, energy, and resources we've been putting into the crate program simply hasn't matched the enjoyment I've been getting out of it. When racing starts feeling more like an obligation than a passion, it's time to make a change.

With that, our 602 crate program is officially coming to an end, and our crate engine is now up for sale.

Over the next week or so, we'll be installing our 358 engine into our new Bicknell chassis and preparing for this next chapter.

If everything goes according to plan, we'll be back on track August 14 at Albany-Saratoga Speedway, and I couldn't be more excited to get back to racing the kind of Modified that truly reignites my passion for the sport.

To everyone who has supported us through the years of crate racing at Devil's Bowl—thank you. Every fan who stopped by the trailer, every handshake, every word of encouragement, every crew member, friend, and family member, track worker—you've all been a part of this journey, and I'll always be grateful for the memories we've made together.

Another night in the books on Saturday at Devils Bowl. It was a better night, the car had speed, and I came home with a top 5 finish at the end of the night.

We spent the better part of 2 weeks going through the car after the driveline failure during the last race and it proved to be worth the effort. I made a few changes to the suspension at the same time and it resulted in the fastest lap times in all the heats and the fastest lap time in the feature as well. Unfortunately the car was a bit tight to start the feature and continued to get tighter as the race went on.

We will continue to fine tune the setup and be ready for the next race.

Home from another night at Devil's Bowl. This week with my 358.

Heat: 5th ➡️5th
Feature: 15th ➡️15th.

Finished the race tonight which was a positive, but other than that not much to write home about. Struggled with the balance of the car on the VERY slippery surface. Even though i didnt have a great finish, it was a small step forward since the last time out with my 358. I need some seat time with the car to get the balance right so im comfortable.

We will get to work this week and get prepared for the next race. Thanks to all for the support. 🏁

Home from night number one of the weekend. Nothing great in the results column unfortunately. Tonight was the third night out with my 358 in the last 6 or 7 years. I finished 5th in the heat race. I was supposed to start 14th in the feature. The balance of the car was not correct and I was not comfortable, so rather than take a chance and mess someone else's night up, I elected to start from the tail, and do a little test and tune and learn for future races with the 358. I need to learn what the car needs to go fast with more power under the hood and the best way to do that is by running it more often which I would love to do. Even though we dont have any good results to show for it tonight, it was a fun night, everyone minded their P's and Q's and I learned a lot which was the goal.

Finish...

That was the theme of tonight's racing action. I ended up with a top 10 finish. A car in 1 piece for the most part and a good seat to see some of the most out of control driving I have seen to date in my racing career. And that is saying something...

Double features tonight at Devils Bowl.

Feature # 1 - 13th

Feature #2 - 7th

The car is in one piece except a bent back bumper that happened well after the checkered flag. Im not sure why either? Im giving them the benefit of the doubt and thinking they must have got a spec of sand in their eye and didnt see the checkered flag or yellow flag I guess... 🤷‍♂️. I'll be asking for some clarification because things like that drive me crazy. A little love tap or waving a finger sends a message that your not happy about something. OR better yet, be an adult and just talk about it and figure it out. Smashing into someone under yellow after the race for no apparent reason is just dumb and does nothing, but cost money.

As uncomfortable as my car feels with certain track conditions so far this year, we are in or very near the top 10 consistently each week. We will continue to work and get the car dialed in and be contending for wins soon.

Devils Bowl Results

Pre Race Practice - 4th fastest

Heat Race - 5th ➡️ 3rd. CRAZY race! Just tried to stay out of all the trouble that was happening all around me! I finished without a scratch, but others were not nearly as lucky!

Feature - 10th ➡️ 9th. I made a couple adjustments to the car prior to the feature and it was just plain too tight to be able to go fast. I had to drive the car in an unconventional manner to make it go around the corner without burying the right front in the race track hard and plowing up the dirt!

Back to the drawing board this week for a few more adjustments to be ready for a 50 lap race this coming weekend.
