Sunshine Soccer of Central Texas

Sunshine Soccer of Central Texas Adaptive Soccer for Children with Special Needs for ages 3-18. Sunshine Soccer is a free, adaptive soccer program, serving kids with special needs.

We want to give back to the community, by helping kids with special needs have a chance to learn the game of soccer, at no cost. Adaptive soccer will provide an opportunity for youth to move and explore their environment in a safe way, be active using their unique abilities, provide opportunities to youth to interact with peers in a team sport, and allow parents to network within the community. nshine Soccer has been founded by Sonny Guadarrama and Melissa Meyer. Melissa is a pediatric physical therapist, and has been treating kids for over 6 years. Over the last few years she has grown to learn that she finds the most joy and has the most passion seeing the kids she works with engage in activities that their peers do, in their own adaptive way. She is so excited to be a part of Sunshine Soccer, serve her community, and engage youth in the great game of soccer, using her unique skill set as a physical therapist. Sonny Guadarrama is an Austin native, who recently retired from playing professional soccer in Mexico for 11 years. He enjoys giving back to the community through what he knows best. What he enjoys most, is the fact that he can use soccer to get a smile off the children's faces.

Hello everyone!! It has been TOO LONG since we’ve had Sunshine Soccer!
Sonny and Hannah are ready to get everyone back together (current spike in cases pending).
We’re considering a second Saturday of February start date, and the new location would be at Roots Futbol.
We ask that all families and kids who are able to wear masks do so to keep everyone safe and healthy; and all volunteers will be wearing masks, as well.
Could you do us a favor and comment on this if you’re thinking of coming? Share it with everyone you know who may be interested! And send me (Hannah) an email at [email protected] if you have someone to connect to us who doesn’t use facebook.

Hello everyone!
It is likely we won't have an April clinic, as I'm sure you all know. I'd love to see videos of the kids kicking a ball, or getting active some way, in the yard, if you have these things available to you and can do so safely! I'll post a video of Mina doing the same.
We are missing you all but hope everyone is staying safe & healthy!

Hello all! As of right now Saturday’s clinic hasn’t been canceled but I was wondering if anyone was planning on coming even with the illnesses going around? We want to be careful for our more immunocompromised friends.
