We want to give back to the community, by helping kids with special needs have a chance to learn the game of soccer, at no cost. Adaptive soccer will provide an opportunity for youth to move and explore their environment in a safe way, be active using their unique abilities, provide opportunities to youth to interact with peers in a team sport, and allow parents to network within the community. Sunshine Soccer has been founded by Sonny Guadarrama and Melissa Meyer. Melissa is a pediatric physical therapist, and has been treating kids for over 6 years. Over the last few years she has grown to learn that she finds the most joy and has the most passion seeing the kids she works with engage in activities that their peers do, in their own adaptive way. She is so excited to be a part of Sunshine Soccer, serve her community, and engage youth in the great game of soccer, using her unique skill set as a physical therapist. Sonny Guadarrama is an Austin native, who recently retired from playing professional soccer in Mexico for 11 years. He enjoys giving back to the community through what he knows best. What he enjoys most, is the fact that he can use soccer to get a smile off the children's faces.
